Been waiting all winter for something this "significant". Nice that it is coming in on a Saturday evening too.

Took part of my lunch break to watch some college baseball...it was a breezy 81. Nice treat for our opponents - Clarion University Golden Eagles. :pop:

I know college baseball up north in February usually doesn't work well, but Clarion is coming back to SC in two weeks to play two teams...from West Virginia and Ohio. That's just weird.

Low level college baseball is nuts, unless you're a fan. My school routinely plays 1-2 doubleheaders a weekend. Clarion plays one on Friday in Wilmington, DE and then one each on Saturday and Sunday in South Carolina. That's crazy.

It's gorgeous up here.

Low 80's, slight breeze, no clouds. I'm sitting on my front porch typing this.

I didn't even know Clarion had a baseball team... so there's that.

I was at the BMW dealer on Baum Blvd picking up my car (Takata airbag recall) on Wednesday and was talking to my service coordinator. We both have classic cars so the DMC came up, and he said "That thing weighs like 4,000lbs, right?" so it's a common misconception.

I just tell them there's a problem with the earth's gravitational pull...
P&W was the single worst dealership I have ever dealt with. It sucks that its the only dealership that is reasonably accessible for people in the city or north. Granted, this was over ten years ago so maybe they've improved. Good experience?
I've never had any issues with them and I've been going to them for about 3-4 years.

Yikes.... all the creeks were super high coming home tonight. Higher than I've ever seen in this area.

That has always been one of the coolest geographical/meteorological phenomena to me. A lot of people don't realize that so many features (Great Falls on the Potomac in MD, for example) are where the fall line crosses a body of water or other noticeable spot.

That's something I've found fascinating about where I live now. The only way we get precipitation is if it comes from the South. If it comes from the West the Appalachian Mountains push it North and to the East.

In other words if it is raining in Atlanta we get rain, if it rains in Knoxville we won't.

That's also a product of the precipitation "shadow" caused by the high ridges. For example, in Pennsylvania, it's very common for the Pittsburgh area to get hit with a hard line of storms, only for it to break up a bit passing over the mountain ridges, and then reform in the Susquehanna River valley.

February is notorious for these one or two day torches. You thought your yard was a mudfest now, just wait.

We’ve had snow on the ground on the second week of February 5 out of 10 years (according to my Facebook memories), but for the next ten days it will be upper 70s for highs, no lower than 48 for lows. I could use another couple of weeks of winter - our version of it at least.

We have propane gas logs, and I usually have the 100 lb. tank refilled at least once per winter. We haven’t even used 50% of the tank yet, despite the first two weeks of January were highs below freezing or near it. So strange.

Going to 80 on Wednesday. There's about 10 days a year, where I can keep the windows open. :x

After a round of flooding last last week, rain all day here in the burgh means more flooding and mudslides.
