Shad, will it ever rain again in Pgh?

Even on Saturday when it rained downtown, Richland township saw no rain.

I was surprised to learn that the Bucs game was rain delayed the other day. There was no sign of anything resembling rain in Beaver.

I mowed the hay in my yard yesterday.

Believe it was delayed due to threat of lightning, not necessarily rain.

They told us a weird story. They aren't baseball fans, only got to go bc the husband's company gave them tickets.

Anyway, their son ran the bases after the game, and they went out onto the field to watch. They said the grounds crew gave them crap about stepping foot on the grass. They were also confused as to why they watered the field before the game, covered it during the rain storm, then got all prissy when they dared touch the grass after they played an entire game with players stomping all over the field in their cleats. Like they were touching the original copy of the Declaration of Independence or something

The Canadian wild fire smoke rolling in yesterday was surreal and at first a little concerning because it actually smelled like smoke. I had to check online to make sure there wasn't a nearby fire.

The Montgomery County Department of Public Safety actually had to make the below statement because people were calling 911.

“Incidents for Smoke in the Area The Department of Public Safety is aware of and actively monitoring an influx of calls for smoke in the Northern Tier of our County. Due to the weather and atmospheric conditions, the smoke is believed to be traveling through our region from the Canadian wildfires. It continues to move east through the County at this time.”

Yeah, it got really bad last night. The smell was quite strong out here in Lancaster County. I can't remember the last time we had traveling smoke that mixed down to the ground this much.

Some significant rain threats next week. Let's hope.

We've had haze from that smoke down here as well. Nice sunrise this AM though

Pixies concert at Stage AE on Tuesday. Forecast to be the last of three straight rainy days after a drought. Naturally.

I don’t know what I expected with the smoke, but it wasn’t this. The haze looks like a light morning fog and it smells like a campfire is going on a few houses down. Absolutely crazy.

It caught me off guard when I left work yesterday and saw how hazy the Ohio river valley was.

It's a little hazy here in Cranberry, but if you didn't tell me about the fires, I thought it be your normal summer haze. But I guess east of here is really bad. My SIL is out by Jersey and said it is bad.

When my buddies and I went to the Pitt Clemson game in 2016, there were fires down there and the smoke/haze was strong, but not like the pictures you are seeing of NYC or anything.

Yeah it's hazy in Pittsburgh. On my walk yesterday, a normally clear view of downtown looked more like LA.

But, it's not THIS bad:

Jodie Comer is getting rave reviews for her performance in the one-woman Broadway play “Prima Facie,” but her June 7 performance was cut short due to nearly-unbreathable air in New York City.

Eyewitnesses say that Comer said she couldn’t breathe because of the air and a stage manager helped her off stage about 10 minutes into the matinée performance.

New York City is in its second day of terrible air quality as a result of Canadian wildfire smoke blowing in its direction. The city is bathed in a yellow hue, the air is difficult to breathe and smells like a burning campfire.

Holy crap... I hope that's shopped in someway. Looks apocalyptic.
