This was the scene to restart the 2nd round on Sunday morning at the Players. Outside of one of the Ryder Cup days at Whistling Straits and one British Open day, it was the coldest I've ever been while covering an event. I knew it had to be pretty serious when I spotted Paul Goodloe from the Weather Channel walking around with his crew.

My driveway ended up an icy mess even without shoveling. I think it stayed warmer longer than the road did, because there was a fairly think layer of what was clearly slush under the snow, which froze into a layer of ice once the temperature dropped. I brushed the snow off the top, but said "eff this" to trying to chip that ice off. It can melt on Monday.

I left at 9am and had no travel issues at all. In fact it was pretty nice not having the roads clogged up, turnpike was empty.

The U--Haul trailer I rented got trashed with slush so I ran it through a car wash before returning it.

The wind was worse than the precipitation.

Not sure i would have wurshed a U-Haul trailer, lol.

Woke up to snow this morning. 6 - 8 inches of lake effect expected today and tonight.

Sunday, with a high of 36, will probably be the last day with highs in the 30s or below until later this year. We are locked in for upper 50s/60s for a while now.

I took my van in yesterday to have the snow tires taken off. I am confident by the time I get it back midweek all this will be completely gone.
