You should take videos and post them on YouTube for those of us who won’t be there…

How was it Ghost crew? Based on what I’ve seen they once again kicked ass.

Isn't Volbeat opening for them this tour too?

Yes. It’s more setup as a co-headliner situation as both bands are doing about 75 minute sets. PG had a decent interview with Tobias Forge where he talked about the state of the world.
Originally, the album was meant to come out in January, but then things played out in a better way, I guess, because now what this tour is is a pre-album co-headlining tour, so it’s obviously not your equivalent of a new-album-fresh-on-the-counter two-hour show, which, in a way, with the nature of how things are in the music business right now, it’s not a bad thing, because putting on a tour right now is very hard. I hate to talk shop. We are having fun, but from an industry standpoint, it’s uphill because you have all these protocols that really throw a wrench into the whole machinery. People are sent home in the morning just because they test positive, even though they’re not sick, and that leaves a labor shortage every day, so the crew are really working their asses off trying to put the show together every day, and we have two bands headlining, with a headline production each. It would’ve been very hard for us to do like “the full monty” at this point, so we’re doing “a great monty.” The tour feels very solid, people seem very happy, but I’m glad it ended up being before the album came out because if the pressure was on for us to play eight new songs, it would’ve been very hard to pull off under the circumstances.

Good time was had by all. Definitely co-headling - Volbeat played for a while and killed slayed. Ghost was good as always, but their overall sound could have used some tweaking, It was hard to understand Papa at times.
Twin Temple opened for both. I had not heard of them before, but I also would not have guessed that I'd ever hear such a thing as Satanic Doo-wop.

I've always wanted to see Volbeat. Ghost is a band I just can't get into and I'm not sure why. Like I won't actively turn them off if I hear them, but I don't seek them out.

Great band to see live. This was the second time I've seen them and it was excellent on both occasions. First time was at Stage AE with Trivium and Digital Summer.I've always wanted to see Volbeat.

I saw that New Found Glory is coming to The Roxian in June. My wife wants to go and the emo kid in me wants to go for the nostalgia.

Ghost was amazing as always - however, it's a better show when it's just them and not a co-headline. Missed some songs I would've really liked to hear. And they can shitcan Enter Sandman - I don't give two craps about that cover. Would much rather hear If You Have Ghosts. But Papa brought it like he always does. Freakin' LOVE that band.
(Sidenote: Everyone has been raving about Kaisarion - but give me Call Me Little Sunshine any day of the week. Bummed we didn't get to hear it live. Can't wait for the album!)
Didn't see Volbeat bc we did the Ghost M & G, but heard some of them. I'll probably start giving them a listen-to.

Half the bands named on the last 2 pages sound like sneaker brands.

I think it'll go similar to the tour cycle for Prequelle. Pre-album tour followed by international headliner tour that begins in Europe. I just hope they come back to Pittsburgh for the headliner tour this time around. Most people don't seem too thrilled about the inclusion of Enter Sandman. Wonder if they're just trying to drive clicks/downloads to their cover.Ghost was amazing as always - however, it's a better show when it's just them and not a co-headline. I like Volbeat for the most part. I think some of their more recent albums have gotten repetitive and radio rock-y. Preferred the hard rock rockabilly vibe they had in the earlier days, but regardless Poulsen is an excellent vocalist and Caggiano's bonafides as a guitarist speak for themselves.

My wife was supposed to go to John Mayer tonight, but he has COVID for the second time in two months so it's been rescheduled to a Thursday in May. Lame.

Willing to bet that COVID isn't the only communicable disease John Mayer is currently battling.

very likely. I knew that dude back in the 90s when he was a local (Decatur, GA) singer-songwriter working the door at my favorite club. very weird that he's a superstar now. same for Sugarland.Willing to bet that COVID isn't the only communicable disease John Mayer is currently battling.

The Chicks latest album...is not great. Lots of ire directed to Adrian Pasdar, Natalie Maines' ex-husband. I do like their older stuff for what it is.
