I laughed at this until I realized that I would eventually be in the same boat as you.

Everything seems to be resale now, though normal tickets weren't cheap to begin with. I paid like 200ish + for field tickets during the met club pre-sale. I think even uppers were like 100$ or so plus taxes.I just looked on Craigslist and Ticketmaster for Metallica tickets. Had no idea what the price would be, but if there was something reasonable, I was going to consider maybe grabbing a ticket.
I couldn't find anything below $200 before fees.
Yeah, I'm just gonna sit this one out.

I see we're all conveniently forgetting about Joan Jett/Poison/Def Leppard/Motley Crue on Friday. Where the weather is supposed to be spectacular. That's ok - more for me.
Will also be at Metallica.
Trying to figure out best place to park for both. We're doing a meet & greet on Friday, so we'll probably have to be down there way early.

I would go to see Poison/Def Leppard/Joan Jett.. whatever Vince Neil is trying to be these days in Crue does not interest me at all. The performances I've seen were awful.I see we're all conveniently forgetting about Joan Jett/Poison/Def Leppard/Motley Crue on Friday. Where the weather is supposed to be spectacular. I actually thought about going, but saw how much tickets were and for me...not worth it, but sounds like fun show. Is Crue headlining? I would think Def Leppard is the best sounding band these days out of those.
As far as parking spot here is showing the gold garage at like 50$ for Metallica ... I'm tempted to buy ahead just so I don't have to worry about finding parking the day of the show. It will be a **** show regardless. I'm hoping Billy Joel gives me some sort of inkling on what to expect for Metallica parking wise.

I'm sure videos of this ilk have been shared here before, but they're still funny.

They are alternating headliner. Crue is closing our show. I would go watch Nikki Sixx dig a ditch so I'll be there. The Crue is always a fun show, and I'll take it while I can get it. Def Leppard always sounds good - but their set list looks like a bummer.

Oh my at that video. It sucks that it sounds like the rest of the band is still really good, and then you have Vince just butchering the vocals.

I text my buddy asking what time he wanted me to pick him up on Sunday to head down to the stadium. He responds back with 28? I'm like 28 what? He then tells me he thought the Metallica concert was the 28th and he is supposed to work 3-9. *sigh*

We were supposed to see that stadium tour in the summer of 2020 at SoFi, but the world ended and so that got shelved.

Man, that is a lot for parking. I'd just park downtown for like $6 max and deal with the walk. Or uber from parking downtown, you're still saving on money. It's a Sunday too, so there's no downtown enforcement (there never really is anyway), so you can park pretty much anywhere that isn't blocking a crosswalk or garage. As far as parking spot here is showing the gold garage at like 50$ for Metallica ... I always park downtown and walk. The city is only like a mile long.

dodint, you should go to that Metallica concert with skullman.

My sister and brother in law invited me to go to Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Strokes at CBP the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Meh on Peppers but respect their place in rock history, but really excited for The Strokes. They better play all their early 2000s catalog and none of the lousy new stuff. Club box.
With how low my tolerance is these days, I better load up on carbs.

Yeah definitely park downtown and walk. If you don’t want to walk, park downtown and take the T to the north shore. It’s free.

I'd park in the Gateway Center garage and then either take the T (if I'm feeling lazy) or walk through Point State Park and walk across the Fort Duquesne Bridge (if I want some exercise). Remember the Clemente bridge is closed, so it would be farther to walk that way.

We actually ended up having seats that were in the pirates baseball club which was pretty swanky. Just a bit off center from the stage, and PNC Park provided a beautiful backdrop of the city.

I mean he's old but he still seems with it. Some banter and anecdotes between songs. He still sings great, and he played for like 2hrs and 15 mins or so. His band was great too, just lots of great musicians. At 73 I hope I'm in half of as good as shape as he is haha.Billy puts on a great show. How did he look?
A few songs in he basically said..."I have nothing new, so we are just gonna play the same old ****" I'm not the biggest fan of his, but I knew just about every song he played. My wife said he played a few "deep cuts", or the ones I think he described as "album tracks".
This was the set list.
My Life
(Ode to Joy Intro)
Pressure
The Entertainer
Just the Way You Are
Zanzibar
An Innocent Man
The Longest Time (“The Lion Sleeps Tonight” intro)
Don’t Ask Me Way
New York State of Mind
Allentown
Vienna
Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)
She's Always a Woman
The Ballad of Billy the Kid
Only the Good Die Young
Sometimes a Fantasy
River of Dreams
(with ‘Dancing in the Street”)
Nessun dorma
(Giacomo Puccini cover) (Sung By Mike DelGuidice)
Scenes From an Italian Restaurant
Piano Man
Encore:
We Didn't Start the Fire
Uptown Girl
It's Still Rock and Roll to Me
Big Shot
You May Be Right
