I am fully on the Jamie Lee Curtis bandwagon that bands with.......... let's call it a "legacy" fanbase should do matinee shows.

We had tix to see Martin & Martin, but straight up forgot about it until like an hour before show time. Which is far too late to really do anything about it, either way.

Peter Gabriel is coming to town in September. He strikes me as possibly the kind of artist you’re going to pay $100 to see and get a bunch of stuff you don’t know that he’s released in the past 10 years rather than Sledgehammer, Steam, Monkey, Solsbury, etc. May check some setlists before I decide on this one.
Edit: maybe I’m wrong, he last toured the US in 2012 and not only played the hits, he played So in album track order.

Yeah, we really enjoyed it. We saw them at American Music Theater in Lancaster, great venue.Saw them in KC in the before times; it was a great time. They both do a set on their own, they do a couple bits together, and the SCR are present and do a handful of numbers too.

I really wish Gabriel would've done a few shows with Genesis last year. But alas...

Billy Strings just announced a fall tour, including 2 nights in Pittsburgh (Dec 12 & 13) @eddy @Morkle

It’d bring the house down if he brought Kate bush out to do Dont Give UpPeter Gabriel is coming to town in September. As far as I can tell, venue not announced. The announcement only went up about 2 hours before I posted.

Correct. I have to think it's either ppg or the Pete with what he's been selling out.As far as I can tell, venue not announced. The announcement only went up about 2 hours before I posted.

Looking at his other venues, they all seem to be around 5,000-10,000 seaters. I doubt he'll be at PPG. My guess is Stage AE. Unfortunately Pittsburgh doesn't have a whole lot of 5,000 seat venues.

He filled up the Pete last summer which I was surprised about. I'm happier with keeping it smallerLooking at his other venues, they all seem to be around 5,000-10,000 seaters. I doubt he'll be at PPG. My guess is Stage AE. Unfortunately Pittsburgh doesn't have a whole lot of 5,000 seat venues.

That has to be at least 13k right? I was just looking at the other announced venues on this tour and they all seem to be a mid-size venue. He filled up the Pete last summer which I was surprised about. Speaking of Stage AE, I just looked up tickets for boygenius in June and one GA ticket w/ fees is $213.58. What the **** is happening with concert tickets?

Wow, that's ridiculous. I liked stage ae outside, never been to a show inside. That has to be at least 13k right? that wasn't VIP or resale? I just bought tickets for Dethklok and they jumped from 49 to 184 if you wanted to attend soundcheck, go backstage, etc.

Nope. Just regular old Ticketmaster.com. That’s apparently face value.that wasn't VIP or resale? I just bought tickets for Dethklok and they jumped from 49 to 184 if you wanted to attend soundcheck, go backstage, etc.
I’m dumb. The app makes it clear it’s retail. The desktop site wasn’t as obvious.

so I'm gonna stop going to shows for awhile. This is the third out of four shows that I've gone to where a band has cancelled due to illness. Kiss was rescheduled when Paul Stanley got the COVID. Not really a big Kiss fan, but this was another "final" tour and I just wanted to go to say that I saw them once. Plus it was a dirt cheap lawn ticket, which I ended up missing out on when they returned. 7 Seconds got cancelled when half of the band tested positive for the COVID. That one never got rescheduled and I'm not sure if they're coming back through again. Now we have Skinny Puppy to add to the list.
Lead singer caught the flu and was backstage trying to power through until showtime. A rep came out and said that he was sick, throwing up, etc. and wasn't able to perform. Supposedly they're rescheduling a return show, but if they don't they plan on doing a full refund. But I did get to see Lead Into Gold and got to meet Paul Barker when he was hanging out by the merch table. Was kinda surprised that they didn't have an opening band, which meant walking into the show a song or two too late.
Now that I think of it, I was a week away from it being a perfect 4/4. I caught Gary Numan when he came through and he ended up cancelling a few shows not even 24 hrs the following week due to COVID.

Springsteen got COVID just after his last NJ show. It seems celebs are the only ones getting the 'Rona these days.

Do you hate yourself, shaf? Or is that really your arena?
I once vetoed free tickets to a Coldplay concert my wife had access to. I can't stand Coldplay. So she just went with her friends and I stayed home to play video games or whatever. She still gives me crap about it, but my soul is still for the better.

My wife and I have a pretty big cross section of music we both like and would go to concerts with each other with. That pop2000 show would def be one she would go with her friends though and not me haha. Just like I wouldn't expect her to go to Jinjer or Gojira etc.
