Still can't believe how bad Shanahan's play calling was on that last drive. It's like his brain took an early flight to the Bay Area

MWB has terrible taste in baseball teams ;) , but he is indeed a Skins fan.

I'm just messing/trolling around. One can have two teams they like. Mine are the Steelers and the Rams (I was a big fan of Marshall Faulk, and have followed them since).

It was amazingly bad. As others have said, just run the ball and kick the fg. Why give them that much time and that much of a chance.

Thanks to Hideki Matsuyama hating our American game, I saw the first scoring play and the pick-6 and figured that when I walked to the bar at 28-3 that I was just going to drink with my colleagues as we watched a blowout Super Bowl....or not. It was 28-3!!! I agree with the above tweet and even said something to the same effect -- it's appropriate that Kyle Shanahan is going to be the coach of the crapshow that is the 49ers. 3rd and 1 with 9:00 left and 28-12, you run the ball and if you don't get the first down, you punt it away. Instead, it's a sack/fumble and the Pats have new life. Then you have the ball on the 23 with the best kicker in the NFC and it's time to throw the ball again. Run the ball, kill the clock (oh yeah, don't snap it with 19 on the play clock you jackasses), and then attempt the FG to ice the game. The Falcons pass rush was dominant for 3 quarters but like Alabama in the National Title game, the amount of plays that the Pats ran wore them down. Brady had any throw he wanted on the game-tying and the OT drive. This game is squarely on Shanahan's shoulders. Brilliant call on the swing pass to Freeman to get them to the 50 after the 28-20 score but then after Jones makes that ridiculous sideline catch, they go negative for the rest of the game. Unreal. The Braves are off the hook now for worst gut punch in Atlanta championship history (Game 7 of the 91 World Series against my Twins). But I'm glad I won my Pats -3 and over bet and Brady showed once again that he's kinda good.

im still a little speechless about what happened. total nincompoopery on play calling for falcons there. just fall down three times and kick it and then wasting the last TO to challenge that catch. Sad!

Lol... What a blowout. Falcons are one of the most exciting Super Bowl champions I've ever seen. Most fun to watch since Greatest Show on Turf?
I came back to read this thread for when the game changed. I found my winner.

...and a couple crazy/incredible plays from having 7.

Things just always seem to go their way...unless they're playing NYG. Whether it is as simple as the other teams 'choking' due to who they're playing, or that Brady and Belichick went 2 for 1 on a contract with Lucifer, the Patriots just seem to always make the play, get the call, other team brainfarts, etc.

Superbowl Tally:
NFC-26
AFC -25

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_S ... _champions

I always pull for the AFC team, probably because the NFC won the SB ever year until I was 16.

Everyone seemed to like it. I thought it was super goofy.

...so it was probably pretty good.

If anyone would like to know anything about the Superb Owl, it's the only thing DVE 'prepared' for the show today. They try to move on to other topics then turn around and break right back into it. Very tedious.

When I made this post, in the back of my mind I chuckled at the prospect of this actually jinxing the Falcons, but it didn't seem realistic. Welp

one of the most unexpectedly enjoyable things about this superb owl was the amount of cursing caught on camera or through random microphones.

Was mentioned in the thread that the Pats began their comeback at about the same time Grand Moff Cheeto left the Mar-a-Lago superb owl party and whined about how boring the game was?
