2017 Pittsburgh Steelers Thread

Not sure why it bothers me but a few weeks after the incident his Dad was saying he'd play football again. The rest of the world is just hoping the guy can walk to the bathroom without help for the rest of his life but Dad is out there saying he'll suit up again. Whether denial or supportive puffery I don't really care, it came off as neanderthalic.

I can't even imagine there being an insurance company that would take that contract if he tried to go that route.
Other players have come back from similar injuries in the fairly recent past. I don't know how they stack up in terms of severity, but there is precedent.

IIRC the one player that came back didn't finish - but yea who knows about the severity and all of that. I would just think barely standing two months post-injury would make football a non-conversation starter.

That Instagram photo is good news, even if Shazier has regained enough ability to stand...he has a great chance of walking again. Definitely a different story than Nittany Ned’s garbage “not really making progress” source.

I have this weird feeling he will play again. Obviously, if he does, I hope it's because he makes a full recovery and is at no increased risk in the future.

Madden said on his show this week he heard word that Shazier has made very limited progress since the injury.

I hope so, I just don’t feel like it really shows us much. Yeah he’s standing, looks like Ben is kinda holding him up though.

He’s looking frail too. It just really sucks, especially considering he was having such a break out year. I don’t think he cures what ails this D, but they were certainly way worse without him. And he’s the one guy who had the big play potential on D.

Jaguars fans be out here on Twitter like:

Hope this POS had fun watching his team come so close this year cuz they going 8-8 at the best next season. “You made fun of Jalen Ramsey on Twitter?! I’m going to make fun of you being paralyzed!!!” Imagine being that pathetic lmao.

I'm guessing Bettis speaks mostly in cliche?

He certainly did during his broadcasting career.

Bettis certainly isn't wrong in his assessment.

Yeah, but he's not walking with conviction and style, so there's no progress at all.

...hate to be a buzz kill, but there’s a lot of misinformation going around.

Michelle Tafoya tweeted out that although he has movement in his legs, he’s not walking on his own yet.

It’s all a conspiracy. Shazier was actually sitting in that photo with Ben; I photoshopped his legs.
