He shouldn’t.
Love Saquon, but I would be excited to see if Miles Sanders can start to come into his own, he is the future. And the Lions can clearly beat teams with Trace alone, anyway, though the scheming would got sure be easier without the threat of Barkley.

Don’t get me wrong. I want to see him play as many snaps in a psu uniform as possible, but it’s just smart for him to not play. Hell, if I were him, I’d consider skipping Maryland too and get ready for the combine.

It might be good for him to prove he can succeed against a good defense :pop:

he succeeds against cupcakes in spite of his o-line. He can’t play every position on offense at once. That’d be impressive.

Considering Joseph and Heisman were never mentioned in the same sentence before this sentence, I’m not so sure, but maybe I’ve got blue and white colored glasses.

Not saying its a cop out, but blaming the o line is basically a cop out. Aaron Donald was the only guy on the 2013 super panther team that was named on the ACC first, second, or third team defense, and he was still the most dominating guy on the field every game.

Not a top-10 safety according to PFF: https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/p ... ore-week-9 - for whatever that is worth...

I have no idea how good or bad he has been, as safeties are rarely on the screen haha...

I’m curious as to slappy’s take as he was big on Barkley.

I kid, for the record. Barkley is the best back in the draft imo. I don't think he's top 3 for Heisman anymore, but those are separate arguments.

Barkley is a guaranteed top 10 NFL RB immediately upon drafting. Certain players just have the mans against boys look to them in college and he's one of them. Taking an RB top 5 in draft is not generally the way to go but if you're sitting there at 4 or 5 and he's there and you don't have that position locked up take him and give Barkley the ball 300 times a year -- run and receiving -- and be happy about it. My man can run you over, return Ks, and run and catch seam routes for touches against your safety. Unique skill set

That said he is also bad bc he went to ups imo

Yeah, I can only imagine what kind of season Barkley would have had behind a competent O-Line. And no, I don't think it's a copout to blame them. I forget what cupcake game it was where the O-line kept getting blown off the ball, pressuring McSorley constantly. If they would have had a top 75 O-Line this year, he may have had one of the best seasons in recent CFB history.

Would of could of should of, of course.

I agree that Barkley shouldn't be the Heisman winner. He didn't factor enough into the 2 losses, especially the MSU game.

The offensive scheme also hurt Barkley. When every play is run from the shotgun, you'll have longer tackles for a loss.

I also don't think Barkley is a between the numbers type of runner. He isn't big enough to break through tackles when there isn't room to run.
