Yeah, optimistically speaking, they can go 12-0, but I wouldn't bet on that one. They'll have some stumbles down the road. I think 11-1 is optimistic as well, and I think 10-2 is realistic. 8-4 is a bad season with the team that's coming back. Anything worse than that, it's catastrophic.
Yes... I should be outraged by them being exactly who I thought they were.

Realistically, moving forward, I like what Franklin and his recruiting staff is building and how it will translate to sustained success. CFB is 80% just having good players in your uniform. Last year, they were a loss that occurred when they were still figuring things out away from the playoffs, and this year they were 4 points away from a potential playoff spot. There are only 4 teams that get to go, PSU isn't one of those teams this year, but they had a really great year so far and hopefully they'll have a great bowl game against another really good team. I'm sorry I'm not outraged about a 10-2 season.

If I felt the team had a legit chance of winning the National Championship, I'd be more upset, but just making the playoffs to make the playoffs doesn't do much for me. Also, I'm sure there is outrage in areas where they actually talk about PSU football other than when it involves pu

I said at the beginning of the year that anything less than 11-1 with that one loss being in Columbus would be a disappointment. So yes, I’m disappointed by 10-2 especially with the way the 2 losses happened. But I know some fanbases who don’t make bowls and hang their hats on a shallow upset win would kill to have the success that PSU football has had the last 2 seasons.

 yessss

I agree with SDD...I don't think they had a prayer of beating the top 2 or 3 teams in the country. Then again, look what happened to Miami, so who knows.

Not thinking this particular team couldn’t have a legit shot is a loser attitude. If this were Sparty or Team Irrelevant, then you could be happy with a berth in the Bahamas Bowl.

But again, another in the long list of examples of why ‘expectations’ is the worst word in the dictionary.

My comments have nothing to do with expectations and everything to do with actual on field performance. UPS had a double digit lead with five minutes left against Ohio State....and lost. UPS still was in the drivers seat for a CFP bid when they played Michigan State, and James from state college let his team go flaccid during a rain delay against an uninspiring Michigan sate team. Those observable events have nothing to do with “expectations” and everything to do with on field performance.

And for whoever said that it doesn’t make a difference if you make the CFP but don’t have a shot to win it all....not sure what kind of logical gymnastics it takes to get to that state of mind, but if that is how you feel....go for it.

Kenny, I wasn’t targeting your comments in my remark about expectations. They did crap the bed in the 4th quarter of both games (the long weather delay is a very flimsy excuse to me) because the defense couldn’t cover anyone or get any pressure, the same way they lost the Rose Bowl.

What I’m getting at with expectations is that seeing what this team had going into the year, I thought there was no reason why a 1-loss season was the absolute minimum for them. But in reality, they should be undefeated with a monster matchup with Wisky in Indy on Saturday.

A police report alleged that Young, armed with a black revolver, robbed the Wawa at 1602 Christopher Columbus Blvd. on July 30 and took $13,600 in cash from the store’s safe.

Young committed to Penn State less than two weeks before the incident.

Police said that Young — who was 17 at the time of the crime — was aided by his brother, who was the manager of the Wawa, and by a getaway driver.
Thug life, I guess. Nice work torpedoing your education and chance at a future, dope.

Kid isn’t even at UP and you’re saying it’s Franklin’s fault? I know most Pitt fans’ IQs hover in the single digits but why open your mouth and prove it?

Fiesta Bowl vs Washington on Dec 30 at 4:00.

Washington has a pretty stout defense but Bryce Love put 166 and 3 TD on the board against them this year. Will Barkley play? I hope he does but I wouldn’t blame him if he sat it out. Offensively, UW has a pretty good QB that could give our sometimes-covering secondary some trouble.

I'm cool with the Fiesta Bowl v. Washington. Should be a fun game to watch.

My company is the presenting sponsor of the Fiesta Bowl. I wonder if I can score tickets.
