The whole "you don't care about these kids after graduation" bit is embarrassing to even say to someone. He's probably done more to keep them off the streets until at least graduation rather than on the streets in highschool.

He's not their guardian - it's not his responsibility to father them post-graduation, even during high-school.

Sounds like this guy was a poor father himself and is projecting because his son sucks.
Stan Savran had Post-Gazette high school football writer Mike White on his show today, and White basically said in so many words that Lowe has had an issue with Zmijanac that dates back about 20 years. Apparently, Lowe's son played at Aliquippa in the late 1990s and ended up going to Edinboro, but Lowe felt his son deserved better offers than what he received. Lowe hasn't exactly been quiet about it, either.

For whatever else it's worth, White also revealed that two of the members of the board that voted against him were 1) a volunteer assistant that was on the Aliquippa football staff each of the last couple of years and 2) the wife of the current offensive line coach. I guess this falls in line with some of the rumors that had been going around about dissension within the coaching staff there.

White said this is the most bizarre instance he's ever seen of this. As he said, pretty much every high school coaching icon/mainstay the last 30+ years has gone through something along these lines - McCurry, Render, Neil Gordon, etc., but he said this one more than those appears to be absolute lunacy.

Halftime against Virginia. Pitt hasn’t reached double digit points yet.

I was told that a new coach was the answer.

Charlie Partridge has been promoted to assistant head coach. Former Western Michigan DB’s coach Cory Sanders has been hired as Pitt’s safeties coach.

NFL Combine Fun:

Jaryd Jones-Smith: 6'6", 317 lbs., 5.23 40 YD, 1.77 10-Yd Split, 16 Bench Press, 27" Vertical, 109" broad jump, insanely long arms at 36 1/4

Brian O'Neill: 6'7", 297 lbs, 4.80 40 YD, 1.70 10-Yd Split, 22 Bench Press, 29.5" Vertical, 107" Broad Jump

Bench press numbers for either guy aren't very good but O'Neill's 40 time is pretty insane, easily leading OL for the day and is tied for 3rd all time behind Terron Armstead and Lane Johnson. His vertical is tied for 9th and his broad jump is 12th. JJS' broad jump is 8th.

JJS is showing good size and arm length and his vertical and broad jump indicate some athleticsm that might give him a shot. O'Neill's athleticism was on full display and will probably get him drafted higher than he should at this point. Needs to add weight and strength.

JJS sucks. O'Neill is very athletic which is not all that surprising since he was a TE, but still

JJS also won the "pterodactyl award". Longest wingspan in the history of the combine. Guess that's something.

Weah came in at a tie for 6th with a 4.43 40 time. Robert Foster ran a 4.41. Quadree Henderson was slow with a 4.50. Not a good time for the smallest WR at the combine. Weah was 4th with a 38" vertical, 4th with a 129" broad jump, 13th in 60 yard shuttle, 13th in bench press and looked pretty good in drills. Henderson was 11th in the 3 cone drill and 13th in the 20 yard shuttle. Showed soft hands at times but looked like ass running routes.

Combine ended yesterday with the DBs. Whitehead put up 21 reps in bench press, tying for third among safeties, but he didn't participate in any other events, was okay in drills, and in all raised further questions about his speed and mobility, which isn't great since he was the smallest safety at the combine. He needs to have a good showing at Pitt's pro day.

The star of the Pitt show yesterday was Avonte Maddox. 4.39 40 time was 7th for his position and the 12th highest overall at the combine. Vertical of 37" was 8th, broad jump was 7th, tied for 2nd in the 3 cone drill, 4th in 20 yard shuttle, and his 60 yard shuttle was best at the position, best at the combine, and was two one-hundredths of a second from being a combine record. He was top ten in six of the seven events, which bench press being the only area where he fell short. Additionally, he was a complete stud in on-field drills and drew "I don't know who that is but he looks great" praise from Deion. Maddox's biggest problem at Pitt was being put on an island as a 5'9" corner against the other team's top receivers, but his performance yesterday is on the heels of a great performance at the Senior Bowl and he's definitely made himself some money at this point by moving from a late round/UDFA tweener to a definite draft pick. Kid has the athletic ability and football intelligence to have a solid career as a nickel or slot corner..

That play reminded me of Greg Lee getting caught in the open field against Nebraska.

I always was a big Maddox fan and I hope he ends up having a good career. Did he get burnt? Oh yes. But he was a good player.

One thing that won't show up in the combine is that Maddox is a very physical tackler.

If they dont fire Stallings I think they will be mid-pack in ACC next year #Pitt
Agree or disagree (this equates to 19-21 wins and bubble status at absolute worst and a tourney trip more likely than not)
