It's a move that surprises absolutely no one, UPS finalized their 2020 schedule with home games against Nevada and San Jose State, it appears the Pitt-UPS series is done for the foreseeable future after 2019.
I can't say I'm upset. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see the series continue but whatever. There isn't room on their schedule. UPS has just three OOC games per year and it looks like they try to schedule two of them against Group-of-Five teams. The other OOC game from 2020 through 2025 is already booked with either VT, Auburn or WVU, depending on the year.
From Pitt's standpoint, they're already pretty well set through 2025:
2020: host ND, at Marshall
2021: at Tennessee, three other OOC games to add
2022: host WVU, host Tennessee
2023: host Cincy, at WVU, at Notre Dame (OUCH)
2024: at Cincy, host WVU
2025: at WVU, ND site TBD
In four of those six years, Pitt already has two OOC games against P5 teams. With the exception of 2023, they have at least two games to fill in each of those seasons. I'm fine with them sticking with FBS or Group-of-Five teams to fill those games, especially after the way this past season went.
Going forward, I'm fine if they keep ND and WVU on the schedule as a "rivalry" games. If they want to go off the board with another home-and-home series against a P5 team, I'd love to see them reach out to an SEC, Big XII or Pac-10 team if they'd be interested.

Nevada and San Jose State, that oughta get the (blue) blood pumping

I'm totally okay with UWV and ND. I think it's dumb to not play UPS but the schedule is actually just fine without them. Only problem is not getting ND every year like old times due to the ACC making them rotate opponents

They owned Pitt for the most part in the 2000’s, but nowadays it seems WVU is more on Pitt’s level than PSU is.

WVU is a whopping 7-5 against Pitt since the 2000 season so yeah, WVU has REALLY owned Pitt for the most part in the 2000s, I guess. They owned Pitt for the most part in the 2000’s, but nowadays it seems WVU is more on Pitt’s level than PSU is.

It's also worth noting that since the 2000 season Pitt is 2-1 vs. UPS and has never been accussed of, or punished for, covering up the decades long pedophillic actions of an assistant coach.WVU is a whopping 7-5 against Pitt since the 2000 season so yeah, WVU has REALLY owned Pitt for the most part in the 2000s, I guess. They owned Pitt for the most part in the 2000’s, but nowadays it seems WVU is more on Pitt’s level than PSU is.
