The conference schedule should be tough, but a pretty pansy lineup of out of conference games:

Sept 2: Youngstown St
Sept 9: at Penn State
Sept 16: Oklahoma St
Sept 30: Rice

* ACC home games: Miami (FL), North Carolina, Virginia, NC State
* ACC road games: Duke, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Syracuse

10 wins isn't out of reach

I'm not that worried about the conference schedule. Miami, UNC, and VaTech will all be breaking in new QBs; UVA, Syracuse, NC State, and Duke are turd monsters; Georgia Tech runs an offense from the 1920s. Given that our new QB introduction will go infinitely better than our opponents', I'm only saying 10-2 to not jinx the obvious 12-0

Then I guess it will be three impressive victories.
Who is the Pitt QB? DiNucci?
Probably looking at a three-way competition between USC grad transfer Max Browne, DiNucci, and MacVittie.

Ah, okay. I'm with DiNucci. He has the least dumb name of the three.

I guess the home and home with UCF means Dr. Juhl decided to do away with Barnes' short lived policy of not scheduling home and home with G5 schools. Juhl has accomplished more as Interim AD than Barnes did as actual AD. Sad.

And even in a the bizarro universe where Troy is right at 6-6, I dont think that puts him on the hot seat at all.

Referring back to Dickie Dunn's post on the previous season's thread, none of the names that have left the program entirely surprise me. I would have loved to have seen Ibrahim stick around, but they'll start next year with Ollison (who I think stays), Moss, Hall and Sibley.

It sucks to hear about Grimm, too, because some of the talk around his injuries was "potentially career-ending".

Good to hear that Zach Gilbert may be getting healthy and could be OK to play.

Going to be an interesting close to the recruiting season.

I'm not a PantherLair subscriber, so I'm trying to piece this together off of Twitter but it looks like Pitt may be in line for a couple of more Pat Signals this weekend. Pitt is still in the mix for two big-time RBs in AJ Davis and Kyshaun Bryan. Bryan is visiting this weekend and there's some talk he will commit. Davis visited back on December 9-10 (more on that in a second). Both have Pitt in their top three and either one would be huge because each had offers from the likes of FSU, Florida, Miami, Michigan and Ohio State.

Narduzzi has absolutely cleaned house with that group that visited on December 9-10. From what I can tell, there were 10 players that Pitt hosted that weekend. Reeves, Nunn and Pickett had already committed. After the visit, they got OT Jerry Drake, DE Deslin Alexandre, CB Damarri Mathis and WR Michael Smith. They only one they lost was WR DJ Edwards, who decided on Purdue. The only remaining undecided ones are RB AJ Davis and DT Jaylen Twyman.

The group that visited last weekend could shape up well for Pitt, too. They hosted five players who were either undecided or committed elsewhere (. Of those five, CB Jason Pinnock committed. There was another Pat Signal announced for a commitment that has not yet been announced, but it's believed to have come from that group and speculation is that it was either DE Tyjuan Garbutt or LB Nathan Proctor. It remains to be seen if it's either but like many of these other targets, these are each players with high-level offers from blueblood programs (Florida, Penn State, Miami, ND, Oklahoma, etc).

Could be a fun few weeks before signing day.
