Per Alan Saunders, they just added Lackawanna CC offensive lineman Devon Davis as a walk-on. Davis was a JUCO teammate of Chase Brown.

Baldonado is announcing his commitment at 10:30 and Salahuddin is announcing his at 11:30.

If Pitt can add both of them, Peak estimates that they'll finish somewhere around 30-35 in the Rivals rankings, which would be pretty solid given the way things looked earlier this football season. Baldonado's stock has taken off like a rocket the last few weeks, so I'm really interested to see what happens with these two.

Habakkuk Baldonado will announce at 10:30 and Mychale Salahuddin will announce at 11:30. Beyond the obvious influx of awesome names to the roster, both would be pretty big gets.

Baldonado is a 6'4, 230 lbs. DE from Florida who has played only one year of high school football after moving to the U.S. from Italy. 247, Rivals, and ESPN all have him as a 3 star recruit but he's a physical specimen with a lot of upside. He's deciding between Pitt, MSU, and UCF and had Illinois, Nebraska, and Syracuse as other P5 offers. 247's crystal ball has him at 100% Pitt.

Salahuddin would be an even bigger get. 5'10, 193 lbs RB from D.C. ESPN has him as a 3 star, but Rivals and 247 both have him as a 4 star recruit and one of the top all purpose running backs in the country. He's deciding between Pitt, USC, and Syracuse and 247's crystal ball puts him at 100% Pitt. His other P5 offers included UNC, Arkansas, Baylor, BC, Clemson, Florida, UGA, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, MSU, Nebraska, etc. He also had an offer from Navy which means his grades and character are in order.

The three signings this morning put Pitt at the 85 scholarship limit, so netting either of these recruits would mean more attrition.

Edit: Damn you Stoosh for semi beating me to the punch.

it is hard to choose what is my preferred infrequent, long post on the board, a stoosh pitt post or a Miami vice/Thomas post in the investment thread.

The answer is always Stoosh.

Pitt is also tied for the 8th most combine invites. Quadree, O'Neill, Whitehead, Maddox, JJS, Weah, and Winslow.

Fingers crossed for making this 2 for 2. Really want a RB in this recruiting class. Also worth noting that Pitt never did manage to find another TE for this class after Alaimo decommitted and ended up signing with UCLA this morning. Barring a position change the TEs for next season will be Clark, Reeves Jr., Sear, and Carrigan.

Closing on Salahuddin was huge for this coaching staff. It still all has to play out on the field but after going pretty much all-in at RB with Coleton Beck in this class and then losing him to VT (understandable given that VT is in Beck's backyard), they very likely upgraded here with Salahuddin. He was the 5th-ranked all-purpose RB in the country by both Rivals and 247Sports.

Guess Archie Collins is going to be the secondary coach. Renaldo Hill is heading to the Dolphins. Still need to hire a new offensive line coach and fill the 10th coaching spot.

So that's why he turned down MSU.

Also, have any of these teams watched any Pitt film the past 3 years?

If only twitter was around in the early 2000s for Pittsburgh Dad Jr. to comment on this
In the early 2000s, there was some controversy over whether university funds should be used to illuminate the Cathedral at night, or to clean the building's façade. The cleaning was abandoned because it was too costly. Some Oakland residents spoke out against the cleaning, stating that the years of soot should stay as an homage to Pittsburgh's industrial past. However, the university approved nearly $5 million for cleaning and restoration of stonework on February 28, 2007. The work was completed at the end of 2007, restoring the exterior of the building to its original condition.
