You all seem to think the Pitt fandom is some kind of curse when you're really just doing it to yourselves.

I know that's obvious and all but to see it unfold live and in real time is a thing to behold.

Fun pre-ACC factoid:

Future PGH sportscaster Bill Currie called N. State basketball games in the 40s and 50s.

After watching Auburn/George, imo Pickett has comparable attributes to Fromm and stidham, two guys that have been pretty impressive as young players.

Chawntez Moss has been dismissed from the team. Good example of a clean program excising a ne'er do well as opposed to actively bringing those types of players in, like certain other programs and their affinity for armed robbery.

Also appears they are about to flip this DT from Kentucky:

Fantastic offer sheet, almost 20 P5 offers including a bunch of SEC schools.

Former 4-star UPS commit Isheem Young has signed with the Pitt Panthers today after a year at Lackawanna CC.
UPS pulled Young's scholarship after his involvement in a robbery at a Philadelphia Wawa. He is expected to be an impact player this fall for the Panthers.
Good example of a program taking a troubled young man under its wing in the hopes that he can turn his life around and earn a degree and potentially a chance to play professionally and make millions, unlike other programs who callously rip those opportunities from young men for capricious reasons.

Will he actually make the cut on a NFL team? Hanging on as a return man, I guess.

Bentley de-committed this morning from Kentucky. Apparently he's taking a visit to Louisville this weekend. It sounds like Pitt has a really strong chance to land him, though.

Welp, guess Henderson's career is over. He's a terrible wide receiver and 60% of kickoffs in the NFL don't get returned. Plenty of teams use their 5th or 6th WR as the kick returner, but nobody is going to hang onto a guy who literally has zero skills at the position. At least now RAL will get the playing time he deserves.

Also, PSN interview with our dearly departed Chawntez Moss:
According to Moss, this decision is a byproduct of him getting suspended during the season. To make a long story short, when Moss was suspended by Pat Narduzzi, he was told that if he did what was asked of him, he would be reinstated and things would return to normal, which included his playing time and spot on the depth chart. However, Moss says he did what was asked of him and it became clear he wasn’t going to get back on the field again for Pitt.

”I came off suspension and wasn’t really playing any,” Moss said. “I felt like I did enough during the suspension to be able to play but me and Coach Narduzzi weren’t seeing eye to eye.”

I asked Moss if at any point following the suspension if he approached Narduzzi about why he wasn’t getting playing time when he was previously told nothing would be held against him.

”When I returned for the North Carolina game, I got one carry and then the game after that I didn’t get anything,” Moss answered. “After that, I just asked him what’s going on and he explained that I wasn’t getting any carries because I was selfish and stuff like that. Then over time, he told me to find someplace else to play.”
Dude, you can't come back from suspension and think you're going to get the ball 20 times a game, especially when Hall starred in your absence.

I'm surprised by Henderson going pro.

As for Moss, good riddance.

@RichieWalsh

I was told Pitt DB Jordan Whitehead and OL Brian O’Neill plan to leave early for the NFL.

A player without a position and a player who did not transition well to the left side. Unlike Henderson, they might actually wait for scouting evaluations, but either leaving would probably be a mistake.

RE: Henderson, there were rumors about him wanting to leave early even before the Miami game so the decision itself wasn't exactly a surprise. I would love to know where he thinks he's going to go. As a returner, he reminds me a lot of Tyler Lockett from Seattle, but Lockett was significantly more polished as a receiver. Henderson has a lot of work to do there. It sounds like he wanted to get the opportunity to help his family out as soon as possible, so I hope this works out for him. I honestly don't know that he'll even be drafted. Then again, all it takes is one team to have enough interest and he DOES have game-breaking potential as a returner.

As far as Whitehead and O'Neill go, they each regressed this year and that will impact their draft status. Whether it will be enough to keep either/both of them here remains to be seen. I think O'Neill may slip, but not as far as Whitehead because O'Neill plays at a position where a team will find it easier to invest in his athleticism. I will be interested to see what happens to Whitehead. He's solid in run support but he really struggled at times in coverage this year.

I'll never fault someone for wanting to go get $$$$ while they can. Not sure if any or all will get drafted, but hoping they got some sort of good info from NFL scouts saying they have a shot and will get some guaranteed $$$ of some kind.

I'm pretty sure the College Advisory Committee doesn't provide info until closer to the declaration deadline. As it is, players are advised "potential first round, potential second round, or neither, which is effectively a recommendation to stay in school". I don't see how these guys wouldn't have been told to stay in school.
