under because Duzz will hopefully be smart enough to not subject him to NC State's defense in his first action

Part of me wants to let Pickett take his lumps, the other part of me is like let Dinucci take the lumps that NC state will give and let Pickett come in and gain confidence after this game. It's a **** situation either way.

Per the Pitt beat writers via Twitter, Narduzzi announces Browne is done for the year. Shoulder surgery.

Sunseri was unquestionably a better QB than Browne.

Peak says on PL that he spoke to Narduzzi about the QB situation. Narduzzi says there is "a plan" for Pickett on Saturday vs. NC State but he won't elaborate on it.

Also, safety Phil Campbell has been practicing with the RBs this week, but it sounds like that was a numbers-game move (with Moss being suspended) as opposed to a more permanent change. Chawntez Moss is also practicing on the scout team, so there's some speculation that his suspension may last for only two more games.

There will never be a QB worse than Tino and I am 100% confident in that.

I would characterize the news that the Nard Dog has a "plan" to use Pickett this weekend encouraging. They need to get a good grip on who is the starter next year and get off to the right start against the Albany Great Danes and the UPS Neds.

I wouldn't toss Pickett to the wolves against N.C. State, but I'd definitely use him a lot.

I feel horrible for Browne because I hate seeing a player's career come to an end due to injury. As a fan, though, I'm ready to move on and use the rest of this season to get players some experience for next year, results for this year be damned. If they somehow win four more games and become bowl-eligible, terrific. If not, whatever.

Looking ahead to next year, I think they have a good idea of what they have with Dinucci and his ceiling is relatively limited. The staff really seems to like Pickett and I've heard some good things about how well he played at the spring game and even during camp.

The NC State defense will be tough - especially behind this offensive line - but they follow that with three games that are a bit more favorable in terms of matchups, I suppose. I'd especially like to see them work Pickett in against Duke, Virginia and UNC because I think they can do so without the risk of completely obliterating his confidence.

This is one of those games Pitt would find a way to win.

I expect a blowout though to be honest.

DiNucci needs to grow in his facial hair so his mustache connects to the rest of his beard or just go clean shaven.
