I had a spin like that when I was younger. Wasn't even going that fast, the light on Rt. 30 at Mt. View Inn (now Speedway Cafe) went green and we drove off towards Latrobe. Doing maybe 30mph the car got light over a crest and the back end swung around and we did a full 360 and kept going down the highway. It was in a Dodge Intrepid so it wasn't even some kind of true oversteer.

How is it that a place like Ohio State can move 10,000 freshmen into dorms on one Saturday, but it takes schools like Pitt an entire **** week to move like half that?

I'm guessing wherever Ohio State is located, it is much less of a **** than Oakland.

North side of Columbus...so yes, geographically and topographically much more accessible than Pitt's campus.

What was up with the Parkway East this morning? Flooding? All I know is I left Greenfield at 8. By 8:45 I still hadn't made it to the Oakland exit. When I finally did, I took it and worked from home.

Is the Camp Horne Rd exit still closed on 279 Northbound? I think @Shyster had mentioned it a couple weeks ago?

I don't believe so. Think I saw some cars getting off on to Camp Horne yesterday.

Found his post (different thread) and he mentioned it was only overnight paving.

Might have to be how I get to Sewickley since the Bathtub is closed/still flooded.

A friend sent me a note that said Avonworth sent out a message to parents that a gas line was hit on Mt. Nebo (joy) and that the school buses might be running later than normal too.

Also, Mt. Nebo is closed down at Sheetz (by Sam's).

My commute home is going to be awesome.

I also wonder if we have gas service.

Looks like Google recommends the turnpike. Sounds like a plan, Google.

Ah, that explains what was going on. I just drove into work about an hour ago, and traffic the other way on Lowries Run Road was backed up solid the whole way back to the intersection of Camp Horne and Mt. Nebo. I figured something had to be closed somewhere, but I wasn't sure what was closed.

Why the **** does this **** city design a goddamn major highway that **** floods.

Are you saying Camp Horne going toward 65 is backed up or Camp Horne going toward 279/Rochester is bad?

Camp Horne going toward Lowries Run / Rochester Road is bad.
Strange - about an hour later it was perfectly clear. Must have been due to the initial surge from traffic redirection.

279 opened back up around 5:30.

Apparently a lot of people get on the road Tuesday. We didn't leave our house until 6pm and it was still brutal getting through the Philly area. There was a crash on the PA turnpike, and I actually watched the delay go from 43 to 56 minutes while we were headed out to KOP.

Ultimately bailed out and took a ton of back roads up above Norristown and eventually just took 202 the whole way up into NJ. On the bright side, the New Hope area is very charming this time of year. All told it took about 4 hours to get to NY, vs. the usual 3:20
