Used to live across from Undercliff firehall. Great area, glad I moved though in relation to where I work.

We nearly bought a house on East Elfinwild. 90 year old house with 1.5 acres and a big flat yard that my wife and I loved - until she saw how small the bedrooms were. And I found out they were paying ~$400/month on their heating bill in the winter.

I'm about 5 miles up route 8 now. It's costly driving the turnpike everyday for work, but it is completely hassle free. Only traffic I see is 1 mile on route 22 in Monroeville on the ride home.

Man, that I-85 bridge collapse is a traffic nightmare for anyone in Atlanta. They arrested three homeless people for starting the fire, apparently.

Wasn't there a bridge closure from an accident? My route was 10 minutes longer from home, I feel like a lot of people took 79 to take 65 yesterday.

I'm so glad I work at 530am and get to leave at 4. Traffic into and out of the city for me is pretty negligible

If I had to be at work at 530 a.m., I don't think I'd be happy about anything in my life.

The lights in my office are not even on from 6pm-6am, with no override. Sometimes my wife flies out at 5:50am on Monday morning so I get to work by 5:30.

It is a fantastic time to drive in the city, though.

The city is still asleep, and it makes it so easy for me to get to my office in the strip district. At first I hated having to be up that early, but once I adjusted it has been so nice.

Short of driving overland and going down to Santa Clara, there are only three arteries to get from the East Bay to the Peninsula: The Bay Bridge (which leads to downtown), the San Mateo Bridge (which, weirdly, leads to San Mateo after passing by my office), and the Dumbarton Bridge (which leads to East Palo Alto and the Facebook HQ). All three of the other paralegals on my team live in the East Bay, and yesterday there was an accident on the SM Bridge. None of them got to the office before 11 am.

This morning was the worst yet. Even allowing for the inability to drive in the rain, what is going on this week? Are the Liberty tunnels closed?

the ramp located at the blvd of the allies and grant to get to the blvd of the allies/parkway/liberty bridge is closed and will be closed for a while. so that's a start to the problems

Right, I saw that sign on the vets bridge and was wondering what was up. This is going to be a disaster for the next couple months -- do they plan on doign any of the 279 road work simultaneously?

According to the below story from WTAE, the closure of ramp from 579 / Crosstown Boulevard to the Boulevard of the Allies is only going to last until next Tuesday morning, April 11. The other ramps to/from the Liberty Bridge, Boulevard, and Grant Street are the ones that are closed for the long term.

Can you still get from Grant to 376E via 7th? Or are you talking about the ramp that connects Grant directly to 376 on the south end of Grant?
