The Pittsburgh Dad Bridge, opening 2025.Celebrating the sink hole and now this image with memes and Christmas ornaments really grinds my gears. I don't understand how Pittsburghers don't find both events embarrassing.

A man accused of intentionally driving the wrong way on Las Vegas’ 215 beltway told a judge that the ghost of NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Sr. told him to do it.
Daniel Asseff, 51, faces charges of attempted murder, driving under the influence and battery with a deadly weapon after vehicle crashes reported Jan. 28 in the area of Lake North Drive and Fort Apache Road, near Sahara Avenue, KVVU reports.
In a court hearing Tuesday, Asseff told Judge Ann Zimmerman that Earnhardt’s ghost told him to drive the wrong way on the freeway in order to get the mayor’s attention and bring NASCAR back to Las Vegas.
Zimmerman noted that Asseff reportedly had heroin and methamphetamine in his system at the time of the crashes.

We do not have a local police force in our town. There is this dickhead that lives a couple blocks away... We have a three way stop at the end of our street, and he always comes flying down the hill, hitting that intersection still accelerating at 35 mph. The other day, I was walking my dog when he came flying through and couldn't believe he wouldn't even slow down with people out walking.
I know exactly where this schmuck lives... Can I get his license plate number and turn it in to PSP? I don't mind rolling stops but this dude completely ignores the stop sign every time.

If you don't have a local police force is it PSP jurisdiction? If so give them a call. Nothing will likely happen but worth a shot.We do not have a local police force in our town. My wife was supposed to meet with a couple friends and their families at Idlewild today. One friend got caught up in this. Had no place to take her kids to go to the bathroom. She finally turned around, then her battery died. Feel bad for her.Overturned truck in the Squirrel Hill tunnel outbound. Have fun heading East today!

Is December the new May for construction season? It's everywhere right now, and not just the typical pothole repair crews.

We were chatting in the PDT about old Turnpike routing and configurations. I love old maps, and found this post card when searching for old Turnpike maps:

This is interesting as a 'map.' They used the outline of PA for some reason but but it only depicts from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg. It's neat, either way.

I also love old maps and learning about the history of how things came to be. I'm rereading the Pittsburgh book by Stefan Lorant that I've posted about before, and I'm into the early 1900s where some roads and buildings we know today are starting to be built. Really cool stuff.

The outline of PA really confuses what the map represents, lol. It is interesting for sure. NOT FOR NAVIGATION just in case you are trying to get to Butler and find yourself with a big ass lake in front of you.
Also sure under what circumstances I am taking 220 out of Altoona to somehow end up in Buffalo, but ok.

This site is probably from the late 1990s but it has a lot of cool old maps of PA, and an entire Road Maps section:

There are smokestacks on that barn if you look closely so I guess it's supposed to be a steel mill. Why is Pittsburgh a big barn?

I thought it was a train station in the foreground, the cathedral of learning in the right background, and the smokestacks in the far left background.

There is absolutely no **** reason people on 279 S should have been driving **** 25 today, or any other day sans accident.
Too many **** times I've hit borderline standstill traffic there with no discernable cause (and no accidents reported). **** infuriating.

Today's traffic was infuriating. It must have been a combination of a dusting of snow and all the hybrid WFH coming in on Tuesday. Perhaps all the SS checks being cashed at the end of the month, too (is that still a thing?)

You assume but you'd be ignoring the number of seniors that never had direct deposit in their lives. So to them that would be like trying to learn a new language.I would assume direct deposit is the way they pay SS benefits these days.Today's traffic was infuriating.
