I'm glad I'm not the only one that paused for a second on Davante Adams too...

Granted, they played a bunch of high school teams this year...but still, they give up 15 points per game...

I know who is behind their success, and Bill coaches the defense too, and don't give you a whole lot...

And they get off the field too...in close games, they're the only team to face less than 1000 plays (963), compared to NYG, for instance, who had to get through 1346 plays in tight spots this year and that extra work might have factored into their 2nd half demise against Green Bay...

Pats only give up 4 yards per play in close games, fifth best in the NFL...

I don't know, their defense is pretty good by the eye test and pretty good by any stats I can sit here and cherry pick...I hope they give 82 points to Houston on Saturday (?) but, I just don't see it happening...

They faced the 17-32 ranked offenses 10 times this season. 9 of those offenses were 24 or below. They gave up 11 points per game to them. All other offenses they gave up 21 points per game. I think they are a top 15 defense at best.

Hey, I'm making progress here...they went from "not any good" to "below average" to "top 15"...I'll take that. They had an easy schedule, no doubt...they're about to play the Texans...who have a bottom five offense...one player to worry about...this has the makings of a playoff shutout...

The Pats defense is somewhere around pretty good. It's certainly not top 5 like some of their stats say, but it's probably hanging around the 10 number. Their schedule was remarkably pathetic.

Joey Porter gaining some international fame! :)

http://isport.blesk.cz/clanek/ostatni-d ... licie.html

(Just FYI - (American) Football has next-to-nothing coverage in Czech press. So the fact that out of everything that happened in the NFL, Porter gets featured is really a double achievement...)

What are the Pats' good wins this year?

At Denver and at home against the Ravens. They caught the Steelers in their losing streak without Roethlisberger.

Yeah, either Baltimore or Denver and neither of those is overly impressive. It feels a little like the 2011 season, where they beat nobody all year, got Tebow in the second round, should've lost the AFC Championship game, and then almost won the Super Bowl. That team's defense was straight garbage though.

Kelce has to be KC's biggest offensive threat, no?

Re: KC
We can't run the ball unless it's a jet sweep to Hill, so we have to move the ball through the air courtesy of Alex Smith's noodle arm. He's throw several killer red zone INTs the last month.
So stop Kelce and know that we'll try to get the ball to Hill in space. Simple enough, and don't let our defense scores touchdowns.

From this AM:

#Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger said he'd play on his injured ankle, and sources say it checked out OK. Doesn't seem to be a bad sprain.

I'm a little more relieved, but I need to actually seem him move around in the pocket to be convinced.

Belichek could announce that they are guaranteed to stack the box against bell every single play...and in return, tomlin would still give the ball to bell every single play.

Is Bell's running style a product of the offensive line?

I don't think I've ever seen a running back succeed the way that he does.

Bell was running like this at MSU too...it seems like they produce guys that run like this...

I've seen Matt Forte and David Johnson meddle with this style too...I absolutely love it...

i thought the defense played pretty well. someone alluded to moore having a high completion %. the steelers were focused on not letting ajayi beat them, plus the fins have a very strong WR trio with landry, parker and stills. most of moores passes were short and when you have that group of WRs, quick routes are tough to prevent. solid performance.
He racked up numbers in garbage time with a 25-point deficit.

What a terrible slate of games this past weekend.
Three of the games went largely as expected, but I had high hopes for the NYG-GB game. I genuinely thought that had the makings of something good. (As did the NFL, presumably, going by the scheduling)
