Ha - thanks! Most of the stories are told my the people who experienced them though. There were 2 or 3 I wrote from their accounts, but I tried to keep it as close to their own words as possible.

Still stands though. I'll still never forgive you for what happened in Road of the Damned...

Hilary Mantel's Cromwell trilogy is just outstanding.

I've wanted to read Wolf Hall, but I just read too damn slow to get through my Goodreads list to get to it.
I think I'm going to read the Right Stuff over Thanksgiving - a real book, not on my phone.

I have not. I think it's on Amazon Prime though. Might check it out over Christmas.

But you'll be watching The Expanse over Christmas.

Now that I am commuting less and not running nearly as much my Audible account is full of credits that are about to expire. Similarly I un-subscribed from a bunch of podcasts because I'm not listening anymore. I'm not sure I've replaced that time with something as similarly constructive. I'm reading more print books but it's not the same.

This is where I am. The only time I have to read books is when I go to bed, and that's like taking melatonin. Now that I am commuting less and not running nearly as much my Audible account is full of credits that are about to expire. I was just looking at the audiobook edition. It is 16 hours long so I passed.
Longest audiobook I ever listened to was 30 hours long. Under the Dome. Long way to go for that ending.

Been clearing out my queue.
Sea comes at midnight from Steve Erickson was ok, not my favorite of his, it was a pretty rough book to get through at times.
David Morrell's First Blood was pretty awesome. Different ending than the movie and Rambo is a raving psychopath, but man I love that character.
Started imajica for a reread while I wait for the ten thousand doors of January to arrive

So I realized I haven't really forgotten all that much of imajica and grabbed the stand to read since I never have. Upon further inspection, I apparently have the 1978 version that was cut to 823 pages. Is it worth reading this or should I go and get the longer one?

IANPFiDC, but get the unabridged version.

Upon further inspection yet again, it's just his original version and he added in stuff later? I think I may give the original drunk and drugged king version a go mostly because I'm too lazy to get another copyIANPFiDC, but get the unabridged version.

No, they cut a bunch of subplots out. He later revised to update it to the 80s and the cut segments were added back in. The whittled down version isn't bad by any means, but you'll miss out on some good character stuff.Upon further inspection yet again, it's just his original version and he added in stuff later? I second Tony's advice. I've read both and enjoyed the longer one more. I wouldn't normally say a 800 page novel felt like it was missing something but the uncut version definitely adds to the storyUpon further inspection yet again, it's just his original version and he added in stuff later? Yeah, I remember hearing about the discrepancies with wizard and glass and how that went back to the original timeline from the original stand and how the updated version made things wonkyNo, they cut a bunch of subplots out. Finished the second volume of Caro's LBJ series.
Maybe Caro's portrayal of Coke Stevenson was over the top? Otherwise, I fail to see how Coke folklore hasn't been a guiding principle for modern conservatism. He's basically like how all conservative men picture themselves.
