Yes.I was going to pick up Yiddish Policeman's Union from the library tonight...good stuff?I've read and liked most of Chabon's work. This one I didn't read, but I loved The Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, The Yiddish Policemen's Union, Telegraph Avenue, and Moonglow.

Thanks. My brother-in-law recommended Kavalier and Clay too, so I really want to get into Chabon's work.
I finished Ludlum's Matarese Circle last night...I forgot how fun his books were.

It basically follows the lives of a family in Britain in the late 18th and through the 19th centuries. It's pretty entertaining and fascinating in the details of family life/struggles in that era. What's it like? I have it to be read

Under Occupation, Alan Furst's latest novel, is not good. It's like he turned in an outline and the publisher printed that by mistake. Very underwhelming.
I highly recommend any of his other novels, but not this one.

I am about 70 pages into Kavalier and Klay. I am really trying and wanting to like this, but it just seems tremendously slow. I know it won a Pulitzer so I want to stick with it, but does the pacing change or is it like this the whole way through?

The latter.

Anyone ever read anything from the swedish author Karin Tidbeck? I have Jagannath on its way. Her stuff seems... interesting?
Bibliophile Thread
well it's a bunch of short stories and the first one was about a guy and girl who were in love with a steam engine train and a blimp and their paths crossed and the lady had a child with the train and unfortunately the relationship with the blimp and guy turned very ugly. I like weird fiction, but wow, 15 pages in and I had to take a little breather and think about this. Going to be an interesting read.Source of the post Karin Tidbeck? I have Jagannath

This is why I'm an ardent library patron. Walking through the endless rows of stacks...that's more relaxing than anything.
