I love going to the library and perusing, but I have to find a better process on checking out. By the time I'm ready to leave, I have 15 books in my pile ranging from islamic mysticism to Sandman comics to the murder of roger ackroyd and 2 hours have went by and I think of the stack already sitting at home and when the hell I'm going to read all of these, so I spend another 20 minutes putting things back (and finding more).

Please do not reshelve library books. You have good intentions, but often things are mishelved and then deemed lost.
Also, most libraries track copy use as well as circulation. We have a lot of books that are used only in the library, and that's an important metric for us.

So I shouldn't just be putting them back wherever I want? Please do not reshelve library books. You have good intentions, but often things are mishelved and then deemed lost.

I feel personally attacked, eddy.

haha. I have the upmost respect and I don't actually put them wherever. My aunt is a librarian at Notre Dame and she would kill me.

and I've definitely been on the other end of trying to pick up a book that they say is in but isn't there, so I'll pay more attention

I donate regularly to our local library and try and volunteer there on occasion, although it's tougher now with two kids. Libraries are one of the most important public services that local/state government can provide, and I always try and advocate as much as possible to people to patronize their library.Public library? Socialist.

Finally got around to reading Good Omens. Man, that was a fun read. I love both of their writing styles, and I found myself laughing constantly throughout.

I just finished Book 2 of Crouch's Wayward Pines trilogy. I had watched the show but never read the books--I definitely love the universe that is set in.
