I used to love Pizza Hut buffet, but God help me if I was more than five minutes from home.

Pizza Hut once ran out of dough while we were there when I was a kid.

I have to wonder, how many pizza choices are made on pure proximity. How far would you all go out of your ways to buy what you view as a superior pizza? Let's say, for example, that you view Restaurant X as offering a superior pie to anything closer to your house, but you live outside of Restaurant X's delivery area. Would any of you drive over to of Restaurant X to buy pizza rather than ordering from a closer place?

Are you saying Pizzarita is possibly not the best pizza in the country?

It's not close to my house, so obviously not.

To kind of answer the question, I enjoy Jioios on Carbon enough that I will get it on the way home after visiting family in Latrobe/Greensburg. It's like 45 minutes away.
But, the behavior you're describing is something I would do for chinese food, not so much pizza.

The one pizza chain that I actually like the pizza is Marco’s. The ones listed above, I will eat, but only if someone else has it at a party. Not bad enough to turn down, but not good enough to pay for.
As for shysters question, I would definitely drive to get a good pizza over ordering a bad pizza for delivery.

It depends on a number of factors: Mood; whether or not we've started the "Mrs-Tif-just-said-she-was-hungry" clock, which gives us around 20-30 minutes to get food before there are..... ramifications.....
I wouldn't say it's my default mode, but definitely something I would do.

Oh, the main reason I don't order delivery is I never carry cash and it's a pain paying with a card unless there is a web platform like the big chains have.

Do they not have GrubHub or Eat24 in Pittsburgh?

Yeah for some reason, I don't like ordering delivery. In my brain, the pizza isn't as fresh as it would have been if I had got to the pizza place as soon as it comes out of the oven. Which is dumb because usually we pop it in the toaster convection oven for a couple of minutes to crisp it up.

They won't accept a card over the phone? That's how I've paid at our local pizza shop for years now.Oh, the main reason I don't order delivery is I never carry cash and it's a pain paying with a card unless there is a web platform like the big chains have.

I pretty much only order from places that have online ordering. Shelly pie being the exception.

Yeah but it's only really viable if you live within like a 5 mile radius of the city.
There's only like 4 places in the North Hills that will Grubhub

Yeah. I can call and place an order on the phone, fine. But reading the card numbers over the phone then trying to tip the card at the door is just annoying when BIG PIZZA next door has an online ordering platform that does it all in one. If I want higher quality pizza I just call and order and pick it up myself. Or have the wife do it...That's likely the pain part...They won't accept a card over the phone? Fact: It's been at least seven years since I've ordered a pizza.

It's not a hard task; but we're comparing it to the fully integrated online platform. Sometimes life is busy and I just want to order some greasy chain pizza and not think about it anymore. If I have time, I will go pick up a good pizza from down the hill.

Reading this last page has been sort of depressing. I should maybe refrain from further comment until such time as you all have joined the 21st century in your food delivery ordering technology.
