Metallica was incredible last night. That was more than worth the price of admission. Funny watching Kirk and Rob prance around the stage while the "old man" James lumbers around deliberately. Most notably set-wise, they pulled out freaking Phantom Lord...they rarely pull that song out and don't think they've played it for at least five years.
Glad you had a good time \m/. You guys got harvester of sorrow too. Phantom Lord is rarely played though so that's a nice surprise. We got whiplash here so it seems like they rotate songs in certain spots then keep the same general setlist otherwise.

Iron **** Maiden coming to the paint can Saturday August 17. Tickets on sale Friday. Unless you are a FC member, then a presale is in effect.

Already got tickets through that. \m/

$95 for general floor... A friend ordered them so I didn't see the full list of prices. Said most 100 level seats were $20 more than that.

They have a nearly full sized Spitfire as a stage prop for this tour. Without checking, I'm guessing that means they're opening with Churchill/Aces High every night.

If there are any Iced Earth fans lurking, Jon Schaffer and the other surviving members of Purgatory got together and re-recorded their old demo songs and released them as an EP that came out today.

Listening to it now. It's kinda cool to get to actually hear these songs after all this time. It's not exactly IE, but you can hear the roots in there, and it has original singer Gene Adam as well.

I finally got around to giving this a listen and was more impressed than I expected to be. Definitely hear the roots of IE in there with the galloping guitar riffs. I was never a fan of Gene Adam but with actually having some money to throw into sound production he (unsurprisingly) sounds much better.

I know I'm responding to a post that is several months old, but for those interested they still have tickets in the 200 levels for under $50 before TM fees.

Dave Mustaine has been diagnosed with throat cancer.
I’ve been diagnosed with throat cancer. It’s clearly something to be respected and faced head on - but I’ve faced obstacles before. I’m working closely with my doctors, and we’ve mapped out a treatment plan which they feel has a 90% success rate. Treatment has already begun.

Unfortunately, this requires that we cancel most shows this year. The 2019 Megacruise will happen, and the band will be a part of it in some form. All up to date information will be at megadeth.com as we get it. Megadeth will be back on the road ASAP.

Meanwhile, Kiko, David, Dirk and I are in the studio, working on the follow up to Dystopia – which I can’t wait for everyone to hear.
I’m so thankful for my whole team – family, doctors, band members, trainers, and more.

I’ll keep everyone posted.

See you soon,

Dave Mustaine

I feel like I'm way late on this band, but yeahhhhhh...

1. Band is really tight musically. Drummer/bassist/guitar player... just mesh perfectly.
2. Tatiana.... good lord. She has incredible range, but that growl is better than most male growlers. It warms my heart.

That’s hilarious, and reminds me of this dude’s “Radio Disney” videos:

Metallica playing Master of Puppets in a downpour pretty much.. and playing it damn near flawlessly. The visuals are cool to watch too.. especially Lars beating the drums in the rain.

I still maintain that this is the best live performance of Puppets ever.

That looks like Seattle 89 from the thumbnail. If it is.. then I agree 100%. That entire Seattle show is Metallica at their live peak IMO.

It is, and I also agree. :thumb: Mexico City was also phenomenal. If you don't already own Live ****: Binge and Purge, you're missing out.

I have the original box back from when it was first released with the VHS tapes and had the snake pit pass and the scary guy stencil plus the big book. I I then bought the re-issued Live **** as well when they released it on DVD.

I actually had the band sign the Live **** book when I was lucky enough to get backstage in 04 when they came. It's hard to see in this picture....also this picture shows how long ago that was ...15 years haha. Flip phone and all. I still have that ticket sub and backstage sticker around somewhere too.
