Spectacular. People want to hate Lars but they want to hate him for the wrong reasons. The way AJFA sounds is the main reason one should hate him...

I love the guitar tone on Justice. I love the overall production value minus the lack of bass. It sounds raw without sounding like garbage like St Anger.

Well we can't compare anything to Stanger. That album sounds like hot wet trash.

I used to have the same processor/amp they used on AJFA. Can't remember the name. It was a 3 letter abbreviation I think. ADM90 or something maybe? Either way I couldn't get the tone right. Probably because I didn't have hundreds of thousands of dollars of other equipment and production at my disposal.

Now I get everything I need from my Line 6 PODXT Live. People bash Line 6 all the time but as far as amp models go they are the best. Haven't used anything else since 2004.

Jinjer bringing the goodness again. Can't wait for their show here in November. The whole band is so tight, and Tatiana switching from cleans to growls *swoon*.

I have not been a huge fan of their two most recent albums. Some good songs, nothing great, and albums hampered with some subpar inclusions and EXTREMELY LONG songs that seemingly exist for ego stroking..... that song was **** awesome. Familiar but very different, great beat, solid solo. I'm a huge fan. I would love for the new album to head this direction.

The new Jinjer album is incredible. Just incredible. This is probably the least "heavy" song on the album, but lyrically it's fantastic. The musicianship in the band is just soooo good. So many little intricate parts. Tati is tati...and always amazing, but the rest of the band is just incredible musically.

Hell yes.

The album is going to take a few listens to really grasp all the songs given the lengths, but I enjoyed my first listen. As per usual a lot of good riffage and solos in there.

It’s pretty great. Probably the best since Bruce and Adrian rejoined the band. Which on that note, I saw some of the ridiculous “passage of time” factoids people were throwing out today. Brave New World’s release date is closer to Iron Maiden than it is to Senjutsu and the six man reunion lineup has become the longest tenured version of the band. Makes my brain hurt.

Also, I want all the flags they’ve used for each song on YouTube.

I'm not ready to rank Senjutsu just yet, but after multiple listens, this is a pretty damn good album. It's possible that a song or two might be a bit longer than they need to be, but I'm not one to complain about a couple extra minutes of awesome guitar playing.

I don't care for the title track, but the rest of the album ranges from good to awesome. The stretch from Stratego through The Time Machine is awesome. Darkest Hour is not quite as good for me, but the solo is really good so that saved it for me. Then it picks back up and just gets better and better until the end. The whole second half of the Parchment is just filled with excellent guitar work, even if they maybe could have cut it back a touch, it doesn't matter cuz it's so good.

I liked Book of Souls much more than you did; this seems like they took what they were doing there and went to another level. This album won't be for everyone due to the length of the songs, but goddamn it works for me.

And I have to add that Bruce is just killing it. He sounds as good as ever here.

Metallica has been playing small secret shows lately ...good stuff. They sound really good, James looks healthy, and Lars seems to be practicing a bit haha. Holier than Thou has an amazing riff...lyrics aren't the best, but that riff is good.

I heard about the Chicago Metallica show the morning of and seriously considered driving there for it. It would be a dream come true to see them in a small club.

yeah seeing any band in a small setting is fun, but seeing someone like Metallica in a intimate venue like that would be bucket list for me.
