I'm just going to keep singing the praises of this band. The transition between the growls and clean singing she does is sooooo good. The band is so tight musically too.

It's too bad that Phil kinda half asses the vocals at times on that because the band is so damn tight.

I can't play that solo in regular speed let alone what Dime is doing here... My fingers don't stretch or move fast enough...

Watched the "Death by Metal" documentary on Death yesterday. It didn't even click with me until it was actually talked about, but with damn near each album release, most of the band was turned over. It makes sense if you've listed to all of their albums and seen the progression.

They brought in Andy LaRocque to record some solos for a few songs on Individual Thought Patterns. Chuck basically just sent him the rhythm section where he wanted Andy to solo, and he basically winged it on the spot - multiple times, note for note. Still one of my favorite solos on a Death song, starting at 2:00:

Chuck was way ahead of his time, and I wish other bands would follow his lead and branch out a little more with their music.

I like it. Different is good.

I don't hate this version:

One of the greatest music videos ever made. “We Need A Gimmick” is an excellent follow-up.

I'm fully aware that you might (probably) already know this happened, but

So I went upstairs and was walking past my wife’s office when I heard music coming from the room. I peek in, and my daughter’s playing some math game online while listening to Death (Pull the Plug) on the Echo.

Just send me the Father of the Year award right now. I accept.

"We Need a Gimmick" reminds me a little of this:

Also, check out "'Right Now' with John Goblikon". That'll eat up an evening when the kids go to bed.

I've heard some criticism about this, but I can't not like groove metal.

It's nothing new, but it's not bad at all.

I like this song much better than Checkmate. I consider myself a pretty big LOG fan, and while they still put out solid material I still prefer the earlier stuff before they became a little more "safe" per se. I don't blame them at all, and they still bring it live, but I miss the old rawness.

This was the soundtrack for much of my afternoon. Setlist is pretty heavy on the Keeper era, with good reason. I really would've swapped out Are You Metal for Time of the Oath personally, given that the former's lyrics are too laughable to take seriously and the latter is **** awesome... but can't win em all.

Pretty much a flawless performance... every band member on point, music is so tight and Tati going from that growl to clean vocals... just incredible.
