More new Metallica... has some heavy "Eye of the Beholder" vibes, and certainly kirks best solo out of the 3 newer songs.

Not too shabby. Didn't have Metallica shoving their way onto my radar in 2023 but here we are. Like all 3 songs so far.

Never doubt Metallica, ****.

Side note: I really dislike that Snakebite guitar - the Explorer is just so much nicer. Get ****, Gibson, you NTP66s.

The riff at 26 seconds or so is so heavy yet so soothing...

Hmmmm probably. Maiden was always good for a meh song or two every album. Puppets is nonstop greatness for 55 minutes.

This might actually be better than the Seattle concert.

19/20 year old me wore out this cd. That time period had such awesome metalcore bands. Shadows Fall/Killswitch Engage/God Forbid/Unearth etc.

Been listening to In Flames' latest album pretty much on repeat for a while now... it's just so good.

Side note: Not sure any other band does lyric videos as well as they do.

Last Metallica drop before the new album...def the thrashiest of all the tunes IMO. Dig it overall. I'm interested on hearing the other 8 songs I haven't heard next week.

I have no idea if Ghost is really still "metal" at this point, but I love this cover, the video, and am pumped for the new LP.

Master of Puppets in full on broadcast television in 2023. They sound great especially James' voice.

So almost through the whole new Metallica album minus the last instrumental song.

Thoughts:

It's really good.
The production isn't stone walled...Rob's bass sounds great.
James sounds fantastic and does some different stuff with his voice here and there.
Lots of good riffs.
It sounds like a Metallica record.
It has a nice mixture of types of songs. Good thrashy stuff, and some slower midtempo stuff. No ballads unless the last song which is the instrumental is a ballad.
The singles they put out aren't as good as the other songs on the album for the most part...which is different.

Only negatives is sometimes the songs can be a bit long and need a bit of self editing, but for the most part they keep your attention throughout.

Edit: the last song is not an instrumental for some reason I thought it was...but it's 11 minutes long.

@skullman80

Yeah I saw that when either she or Alex Lopez posted it on IG. <3 Tatiana. Such a tour de force on stage yet so quiet and nice off it haha.

Thought this was pretty neat, and not at all surprising. Dude's the greatest metal rhythm guitarist of all time and it's not even close.

....and he does it all downpicking too which is even crazier.
