Maiden was fantastic. Good set list (though no HBTN still saddens me) and they just kicked ass all night. So happy I finally got to see them. Really hoping for a greatest hits tour in the near future.

Ghost was excellent as well. Great opening performance.

Philadelphia.

Pretty sweet set up they've got with Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, and Wells Fargo Center all in the same complex.

Ghost was fantastic live. Music sounded tight and Papa E can sing his ass off. Looking to check them out where they're the headliner.

Awesome. I've been big on them since I first heard there stuff about a year ago. I will definitely see them if they come to Pittsburgh for a show. :thumb:

I don't think Maiden has come to Pittsburgh since the Matter of Life and Death tour.

Still too much St. Anger. Metallica was always on my list of bands to see, but any of the live stuff I've heard from them recently is just mediocre at best. James' voice is shot. Lars doesn't give a damn. Trujillo is a fine bassist but is sorely lacking Newsted's impact on backing vocals. Not sure it would be worth the effort anymore.

I think the live stuff from this most current tour is the best they have sounded since the Black Album tour. Whoever is mixing their stuff now live actually knows what they are doing. Newsted was awesome on vocals and a cool mofo, but I think Rob is actually the better bass player.

They will never hit the peak they had on the Justice tour which I think was the best they ever sounded, but for playing live for 30+ years I think they sound pretty damn good still these days.

Justice tour era Metallica will always be the greatest era to me. James' voice, Newsted's energy (I'm not a huge Trujillo fan myself), and Kirk just going apeshit on the solors was tops. Every Metallica concert that I've ever been to was in the 90's, so given that chart, I think I got lucky.

The one MetalliA show I've been to was not one of the 1,223 time they have played For Whom The Bell Tolls. Ain't that some ****.

That doesn't work, as the only good thing about that song is that its butter soft.

You know what I don't like about metal music? Bands with women singers.

Nightwish (Tarja FTW) and Lacuna Coil are the only two metal bands that have female leads that I listen to.

Tarja rocks. Probably my favorite from her is Lost Northern Star.

Unfortunately with Lacuna Coil, they have mostly relegated Cristina to singing the chorus of late... she is so much better than the dude singer. I also really haven't cared for any of the more recent albums as a whole. Comalies and Karmacode are both excellent though.

Within Temptation is by far my favorite female fronted metal, but that is admittedly almost solely due to The Unforgiving... I don't really care much for the albums before that. The follow up is decent, but not even close to as good, and the ridiculous number of guest vocal appearances reduce the main attraction of the band, which is Sharon den Adel's vocals... even though most of them do work well.
