Thought you weren't supposed to give cat milk once they stop bring kittens?
Most cats can't process lactose, so regular milk isn't good for them. This was Cat-Sip - which is lactaid for cats.
Looks pretty healthy for 17.
Other than the sugar, all her blood / urine numbers are great.

I did not know that existed. :thumb:

I had a cat with diabetes. it really wasn't that difficult to give her insulin.
Yeah, we're ready to do the insulin if necessary, but with the vets approval we're hoping the diet change will be enough.
we had another cat recently (RIP as of last Monday
:( RIP

Given their difference in age it looks like I named my oldest after your dog. HB Lily!

My cat has found a little garter snake in a window planter. She's been watching him nonstop.

My little monster is 6 today. Dude's been an old man since he was 1, but he's getting grumpier in his old years... just like I like him to be. Luckily he's pretty chill with my kid:

and when he has this frisbee, he always makes sure that it's looped around his face like this.

When he's finished, he'll take it - or any of his toys - and lay on top of it so nobody can take them.

we adopted a 3 month old kitten last week. it's been awhile since we had a kitten and I've really forgotten how much energy they have and how destructive they can be.

Mrs Tif had two seven-year old cats when we started dating. She got them as kittens (litter mates), and said that almost every day for like six months, she'd come home from work and one or both of them would be stuck to the screen door 4-5 feet up.

Update on Sadie:

She turns 17 this week and it looks like her present is going to be no insulin shots. Seems that the diet change alone is going to be enough to get her sugar under control. Her numbers have been great - the last three days 101, 94, and this morning 89. Got to keep testing, but it's looking very promising.

I take Stargell to the vet to get her nails trimmed because there's no chance she'll let me do it. Well they got a quick and got it plugged up while I was there. Got home and she got all wound up and started bleeding all over the house so I stuck her on the crate for a little. It stopped, let her out.. more blood while I tried to stick some flour on it. Blah. Hopefully we'll be good tomorrow but that was a messy night. My basement was a total mess with blood and flour everywhere

I think it's called a styptic pen (they sell them in the shaving section of a drug store)

Works amazingly.

Sure dogs are loyal, but a cat will never tell the cops were you hid your drugs.

A cat is also more likely to murder you in your sleep
