Male mini-aussie does not agree. He can jump on the bed when I'm in it, nuzzle right against my back and you literally have to shovel him up and off to get him to just relocate on the bed.
Yeah ditto with our one dog who is also male (4 years old and about 45lbs). He is dead weight. He will purposely make you uncomfortable by sitting on your, or staring at you, or laying some weird way on you until you move to give him the spot he wants. He will then kick you even after you move. Good luck getting him to move after that unless you have something he wants.

Good to know, so the deadweight is not a gendered thing. Next hypothesis, all dogs are deadweight on the furniture unless they are spaz dogs.

I keep putting off the phone call to the vet with Geno. In the last two days he has peed on the couch 3 times, and on the floor in general twice. This was after being outside where I saw him go. He's also pooping inside again too. He's still eating and that is what keeps giving me pause, but outside of that he just wanders around aimlessly and sleeps (when he's not peeing in the house). I know I just need to bite the bullet and call, but I keep trying to convince myself it's going to get better.

Sorry man. My Dad had to make the same call, same situation last week. Not fun.

It's the compassionate thing to do and there is comfort in that, over time.

During my 13 hour vet ordeal last week, I asked three different vets “if this were dog, what would you do?” question. I’d start there, skully

And that’s where we are with our older dogs. I will help them walk and doctor up their food and go to other great lengths to extend their life, but inability to control bladder/bowels…that’s where we are going to hit the eject button.

Yep, lean on your veterinarians. I have come to love our vet office and they will always give me an honest assessment (not just selling treatment).

Cat has to sniff the thermostat so she jumps on cart, up one level to the receiver and over to the speaker. I wasn't quick enough with the phone to catch her on her hind legs sniffing it.

Took Star to the vet today for a lump/abscess thing growing on her nipple and left with surgery scheduled to get a tumor and a tooth removed next week. They used some big words to describe the three types of tumors and it was the big one that was best case so hopefully they'll remove it and send it away and everything will be good. Mes - something. Least likely to have spread anywhere. Fingers crossed anyway

Both our dogs have fatty tumors on a nipple. Our vet said as long as it is soft and moves when you try to push it, it is almost always nothing. Hope everything is ok

Ava has a big one dangling but we're going to sort out some of her other concerns first. Vet told us in the meantime to have her wear a sweater if she goes into any tall grass.

My wife wanted to put our dogs in matching sweaters to take a Christmas card picture...our younger dog Murphy was not pleased at all to wear one. He literally stood in the same spot for like 10 minutes afraid to move after I put it on him. It's like it paralyzed him.

He got used to it, but it makes me think that possibly a thunder jacket when people come over will calm him down if the sweater did that.

I’ll endorse the thunder jacket. It took our Aussie from being at an 11 on a scale of 1-10 to like a 7.

I will have to look into it. He's probably like an 11 or 12 when people come over. We've tried calming treats, benadryl ...nada. He's not as bad as he was as we started doing mat training that he goes to when people come over, but it's still not perfect. He's really friendly, but especially smaller kids he doesn't know his own strength.

He usually calms down after like 10 minutes, but the time he hears someone in the driveway until they are at the top of the steps coming in the door (we live in a split level)...it's chaos. He just gets so worked up.

One week post tumor and tooth removal and she's back to her normal self. Just hope she doesn't have too much energy until the stitches come out next Thursday. Vet called and said the mass came back as inflammation with some abnormal cells but thinks he cut enough away that she should be all good. Good day for the Stargell. I'd post a pic of her in her tshirt, but I can't figure out how to get imgur images to embed right. I never thought she'd allow me to put a shirt on, but for some reason she loves it, much better alternative to the cone of shame.
