He looks just like my daughter's cat, Lazlo, who is a bit of a dick (which I guess worked out well considering who he was named after, lol).

What happened to you?
Found out that a girl in my group of friends has genitals that interlock with mine...so, thanks to covid, I am engaged and have a cat and live in Manhattan...

With their eyes open, and their growing ability to walk like sea lions instead of seals, our first order of business every morning is to do f**king puppy inventory to make sure they're all still in the pen.

Bit of a mixed bag at my household recently.

As for the rescue, we have several dogs which are not very adoptable. Big and not the breeds and/or ages people seek out. They've been with us over a year. We have had some adoptions in that time, but they've been small, highly-adoptable dogs and they usually come and go within a few days.

As for our personal dogs, some of you may recall a dog I posted about called Odin. He was born with birth defects and is very weird-looking. He had to have a permanent tracheostomy and takes a lot of care. Numerous vets have commented that they can't quite figure out if his organs are anywhere near where they should be. He's had seven (!) surgeries. He is
DOING GREAT! He is long passed his expected life span and hasn't slowed down a whit. He remains the coolest dog I've ever known. Good news! Yay Odin!
In not-so-good news, my most-beloved Grasshopper is not long for this world. I've posted about Grasshopper in the past, both here and on the other site. We took him in when he was about six months and have had him for over 15 years. He is my warrior. He always slept at my side facing the door. Always there. My Rhodesian Ridgenose. My Chicken Wing. My Grasshopper. My boy.

I have always said that if I ever had to go to war, I would want nothing more than Grasshopper with me.

Now my boy, my warrior, my best friend these past 15 years, is wasting away.

Maybe a week ...

There is nothing worse than those final few days when you know the end is looming.

That’s tough, redwill. Our GSP keeps doing this thing where he looks like he’s on a hardcore down slope for a few days, then rallies and is back to his old self for a month or two. I’m just waiting for the deck to run out on him rallying.

We took Ava for her doggie daycare orientation today. She needs to do more in life than spend all day watching me work on a computer so she's going to hang out there once a week. The facility owner is friends with the owner of the running company my wife works for so they came highly recommended.

It's weird having a webcam to watch the playroom. It's like a fishtank but with dogs.

So sorry for your loss, redwill. That's a tough decision to make, but it was time.
