Welp, looks like we're rescuing one more kitten tomorrow.

@NTP66
I bought a 5 gallon for my desk last weekend at a lfs I don’t frequent because of how far it is from home. Wednesday night, I went to my local one and he had a display tank at the register with these tiny tiny fish in it. So I pick out my plants and am bsing with the owner and ask him what the fry are in the display. Celestial pearl danios. My jaw about hit the floor. He has a breeding pair that just started putting out fry. I tried to buy them on the spot, but he wasn’t comfortable selling them with how young they are. I told him I’d pre-pay for them. No dice. So my plan is to stop in there every other day and wear him down until he sells them to me.

Those are super colorful danio. I’ve only seen them locally once, but never had any. I had a quick look, and if you’re really that dead set on getting some, you can find them online (az gardens and eBay). They are surprisingly cheap.

I found them in aquahuna too. I’m going to go tomorrow and put the screws to the guy one more time and tell him I’ll gonna buy them online if he doesn’t sell them to me.

Have you bought fish online? I haven’t

For freshwater, only ever from Live Aquaria. I would absolutely buy on eBay if they had a fish I wanted - there are plenty of breeders with great reviews. They’re usually a better deal in terms of shipping compared to other places, too.

He didn't budge. Bought an 8 pack on aquahuna for $42 including shipping. We shall see

There is something immensely happy-inducing about having a little critter curl up in your lap and go to sleep.

Yep. He has spent 4+ hours each day on my lap while I work since bringing him home.

Good stuff NTP. Our critter is 1 and has already turned into a teenager. Always whining for food, wants to play whenever it's not time to play, and never crawls up on my lap anymore.

His best skill now is killing the influx of flies and ants in our house. Good kitty.

Of all of them, he is the first to truly cuddle with you as a kitten. The others are affectionate, but they’re not cuddlers. I really hope he stays that way, because I miss having my wife’s old cat keep me company during Pens games. She was the only one allowed downstairs during the playoffs.

I don’t know who needs to hear this. But if you do the electric collar instead of building a fence, keep your dog in the back yard, ya dingus.

Even well behaved dogs generally have a poor reaction when an unleashed bark-f*ck is barreling toward them.

We have this monster pit bull mix thingy …probably > 100 pounds. And he’s on this collar and terrorizes everyone’s dogs who walk by. 4 or 5 other houses in the neighborhood- same.

Your dog is a simpleton. He doesn’t need a variety of options. Keep him out back.

interesting. so you take your dog for a walk by this dog's yard and don't like the way he behaves in his yard? does he leave the yard ever?

What are you pulling here, ulf.

The dog runs to the curb and barks at every dog that passes. And every dog that passes then has its own barking fit. Mine also tries to charge. It’s a calamity that’s easily avoidable by keeping him in the back yard.

No - he does not leave the yard. But he ruins whatever relaxing element there is to the walk.

i suppose i am saying i don't think it's their issue. it's easily avoidable by walking a different route, too

There is exactly one road and one available route. You’re forced to go through the gauntlet.

But yes - clearly a me problem. Courtesy is for nerds.

You need to ferociously bark back at the dog and piss on the lawn. Establish dominance.

Just walk around in your backyard. Boom, solved.
