She's looking out for you.

Perhaps at a younger age. But her deafness makes her more of a liability than anything.

She does area sweeps of the house if we start moving around. She checks every room to find out where the wife and I are and then settles in when she finds us. Because she's deaf I'm able to sneak up behind her while she does this and she's startled every time. Good doggo.

She's loving the nice weather, it was a long winter as she's not a fan of the snow and rain. I'm glad we adopted her. Not sure how well she'll enjoy the beach in June but she's going.

New flooring is scheduled for Monday. Tearing down my 75 gallon on Sunday. Plan is to buy those heavy duty storage tubs and basically create two temporary aquariums in the garage.

It’ll be good in the long run. I’ll be able to do some things that I’ve been putting off. Things like using silicone to adhere the background the the back of the tank and changing the spray bar location.

Fingers crossed it doesn’t all go to hell. I feel good about it, but it’ll be a lot of work

I’d make sure that they’re food grade containers, personally. I have 32g Brute trash cans that I used for water changes, etc. that also served the purpose you need. Well, that and I have 4 spare tanks in my basement. That you don’t is weird to me.

I'm considering buying my cat food in bulk, like twice annually. This is the first time I've seen how much it actually costs and ho lee ****.

My wife is vetoing my 6-month subscription idea because she thinks our UPS guy will try and murder me if he has to deliver 48 cases of cat food in one delivery.

So am I. My UPS guy is awesome, though, and I think I'd actually feel a little guilty if I did this. I'm going to roll with 3-month subscriptions to make it more manageable. All of this just to get around Amazon's constant stock shortage. I'm going to go from 10 item monthly subscriptions down to 2, all moving to Chewy.

This went well. Took about 4 hours from start to finish. The amount of cherry shrimp in that tank was absurd. I’d approximate around 250 total. It was nuts. No fish deaths so far

One of my parents cats is missing. The door somehow blew open the other day, but was closed real quick, and my dad thinks he may have bolted - which would be a first, since he’s scared of the front door and runs in the opposite direction when opened. They’ve searched the woods behind their house, as well as every inch of the house itself to no avail. If he did get out, he’s declawed (I know, I know), and so mild mannered that he won’t last long. It’s been 24 hours now.

We use Frontline plus or whatever for fleas, and heartguard for heartworm stuff. Knock on wood never had issues. Vet did recommend against those flea collars before so we never really tried them.

Also taking Geno to the vet tomorrow for his annual and am dreading to have the conversation on what to do with him going forward. He has been peeing all over the house more and more every day.

Some days he seems ok, other days he stays in bed all day. Still wonders around aimlessly alot of the time and I think he is certainly almost deaf at times. It's just shitty.

Been up all night and all day so far with my cat Honey. Early this morning she started making loud distress meows out of nowhere, and when I checked on her (she was lying in her favorite bed), it seemed like she couldn't walk. Took her to the emergency room at PVSEC, and while it may be an ear infection that is giving her vertigo, it's also quite likely that she suffered a stroke or some other serious neurological issue. They did offer to take an MRI for $5,000, but I think all that would have told me is whether she should have been euthanized immediately, so I declined. It's not like she's getting brain surgery. In case it's the ear infection, they gave me antibiotics, steroids, and an anti-nausea med to try, but if she's not better by the follow-up appointment I made with my vet for Monday, I'm going to have to put her down.

so sorry to hear that. my tortie, Loki had a stroke back in February. she was only 12 and it tore me up.
