That sucks. Is she showing symptoms or is this based on a blood test?

Here's some info from Cornell:

I have to wait until early October for her to be old enough (3 months) to get a full rabies treatment. I'm assuming that o will have a good beat on her health by then. She certainly doesn't lack energy now. :)

When Bellevue Dog Woods opened in the North Hills in 2012, the posted rules raised a lot of eyebrows — and hackles, including these: no children under 12 years old, no food or treats for dogs or people and no dog toys permitted.

“We researched dog parks nationally,” said Connie Rankin, publisher of “The Citizen” newspaper in Bellevue and one of six board members who oversee the park. “These rules weren’t new.”

All pertained to safety. Small children could be knocked down by big dogs running free. Food could start a food fight among the dogs. Dogs could become aggressive if the tennis balls and retrieving toys thrown by their owners were picked up by other dogs, Ms. Rankin said.
This is very true, I once saw a golden retriever run down three kids in succession. It was one of those 70 degree days last winter so the park was packed, it was quite a spectacle as the ~80-100 people in the park watched the mayhem in silence.
Owners at dog parks have to practice “active supervision” of their dogs the entire time they are in the park, she said. “That means no texting, no reading books” and no socializing with the other people while dogs are running around.
I disagree, dog park is optimal reading time.

You are wrong. Pack time must be monitored; you can go from calm to thousands in vet bills in a moment through inattentiveness.

Carlin has celebrated recovery from knee surgery and reintroduction into GenPop at daycare by coming down with a case of gastroenteritis. Spending the day at the vet hospital getting IV fluids.

Brought Carlin home last night, and she stayed pretty mellow. To my knowledge, she has not pooped since 7 am yesterday. As a result, she's not eating, altho Mrs Tif did text me that she had a bit of a snack around 11 this morning.

Fun times report is that after 12 years of wanting to cook for the dogs and being soundly refused permission by Mrs Tif, the vet set home very clearly written medical instructions that we are to feed her a mix of chicken and rice for the next couple days. Ha!

The little baby kitten took off on Sunday afternoon, so that was fun.
I trapped her overnight, with a can of oil laden tuna. She had me pretty worried; as far as I can tell, she was under the house the whole. The interesting thing is that she developed an audible meow in the last 3 days.

Mother and daughter are sleeping it off in a pile of laundry.

Our cat hasn't had anything to eat or drink in 2-3 days. This all after she had a mishap falling down two flights of stairs over the weekend. She just looked shaken up but now I'm worried she may be really injured.

How is she doing otherwise?

This warrants a vet visit, imo.

Totally fine. If she has that condition, it would have appeared by now. I'm hoping that the vet just imagined the concern.

Yep. My wife will probably take her today.

@columbia That's good to hear. I appreciate it when vets lay out all concerns, but it can mess with your head a bit.

@robbiestoupe The lack of eating isn't necessarily concerning, but the lack of water is a red flag. Hope everything is okay.

Cats not eating for several days can lead to Hepatic Lipidosis (fatty liver), a serious life-threatening condition. I'd get her checked ASAP.

Doggo checked out for pancreatitis, which I thought was just a disease someone on House would throw out as a wrong diagnosis ten minutes into the episode. She's already showing good signs of recovery (she ate this morning and hasn't thrown up, which is a first for both of those things since Saturday), but she's got today and tomorrow yet of moar IV fluids/meds.

Update on Siati - red blood cell count very low (9%) so the vet did an X-ray to look for internal bleeding. Didn't find anything wrong with her organs or bones. She's not sure what caused the anemia so now Siati is getting a steroid injection and some pain meds to see if that gets her to eat and get some red blood cells back. Won't know until tomorrow if it helps.

Poor kitty

We had to put our cat down last night. She never recovered. The vet never found out what caused it, other than it more than likely came from her fall. She was only 7.

We had visions of the kids growing up knowing this cat. Our 3 yr old son continually called her his sister cat. Our 1 yr old loved giving her hugs and laying on top of her. She was very tolerant of the two boys.

We decided not to tell the kids. The oldest would probably lose his mind and the youngest is too young to understand.
