We got dog #2 this weekend.

Part Bernese and part mini-poodle. She's a mini version of dog #1. It's definitely been challenging, for some reason she has no problem peeing outside, but will do her other business in the house. She is outright rejecting the notion of a crate, and dog #1 is being a jerk. Just waiting for this initial phase to pass.

So, I recently learned a not-so-fun factoid about the Animal Rescue League. They stopped testing kittens under a certain age for FIV, because they were getting too many false positives. Adopted this handsome boy only to learn that fact a month later from the Vet. He's good, but that should probably be something the Humane Society discloses to adopters.

That furniture takes me back to my grandparents’ old house in Wilkinsburg.

These are good memories, my man. Their house was really old, including the furniture. Not all old things are bad.

My grandparents lived in Wilkinsburg too, that's where my mom and uncle's grew up.

Also eddy, is that a tortoise on the right? How is her temperament? Every one I’ve ever come across with has been evil.

This is our old tortoise, Ginger. She was a feisty one.

she definitely has had an evil side to her and when we rescued the 2nd cat, they were mortal enemies, but then we did a couple months of that synthetic pheromone plug in and they became best friends and she pretty much became like a lap cat. It was amazing how fast she changed.

Ours was a lap cat depending on what you did. If you moved too much, or pet her too much, you were getting bit, lol.

She also used to drink her water exclusively by dipping her paw into the water bowl and drinking it from her paw.

That definitely still goes on with ours, I look like a cutter half the week because I'm constantly fighting/playing with her

Audrey is also old, though, lol. She's going on 16 and just wants to eat, sleep, and receive many pets. Huuuuuuuuge lap cat.

Here’s our 22 year old 4-lber. She has a gimp in her walk now, but manages fine. I still carry her up and down the stairs to help out, though.

So I'm out walking my dog (Stargell is a 95 lb doberman, and well behaved) minding my business. I live in a pretty average, quiet neighborhood. A family of four is coming up on the other side of the road, kids are 5 and 8 by my estimation. And the dad out of nowhere goes "I have a gun and if that ****ing dog comes over here I'll shoot it." I mean Jesus. I kept my cool but man.

You should have said you had a gun and if one of those kids come over, you'll shoot it.

Not saying that would have improved the situation, but it would have felt good.

I've been told that this stuff never happens. Or is that just when it happens to me? Huh...weird...
