Just Googled the name "Sagwa" and one of the hits was a cartoon cat talking about stinky tofu.

So there you go.
The cartoon was on PBS kids when my daughter was young.

My dog drinks out of the tree water and it drives my wife insane. We fill her bowl every morning and as needed but she hoards water anyway, tries to drink it anywhere else she can find it before using her own supply. We adopted her at 8 weeks old and she's 11 now but I think the bad things that happened to her still affect her behavior even now.

Yes, but has she ever drank a quart of Pennzoil?

The new cat likes to play fetch with her toy mice which I've never had a cat do.

My old cat used to do that, but only with one specific toy. I've never seen another cat do that myself.

One of our cats stands on the edge of his litter box like he's taking a royal dump on pride rock.

We've only ever had one that would play fetch. Only cat I've seen do it.

Our cat (RIP) used to wait for us to crumple up our napkins after dinner and beg to play fetch with them. When we moved, we found a few old napkins under our TV stand that she batted under.

Since my dog died in Dec. I've filled out applications for upwards of 10 rescues and shelters (aside from the one at which I volunteer and do photography which, unfortunately, doesn't have any dogs that are the right "fit"). So far, I've heard back from exactly 1. I'm a huge advocate of telling people not to buy from breeders and pet stores, but I'm starting to realize why many people go that route. When you're trying so hard to adopt and know you meet or exceed all of the qualifications and no one even responds it gets defeating. It would definitely be easier to just go somewhere else and hand them cash, but I'll keep trying.

That’s precisely why I no longer even bother with considering a rescue anymore.

It really is annoying because I know shelters/rescues do incredible things and save dogs that wouldn't have a chance otherwise. But man, the people who run them are so often so disorganized/overwhelmed that it makes the entire process ridiculously frustrating.

For me, it was a mix of nobody getting back to me, or being told that I wasn’t approved (despite the fact that I haven’t lived a single day in my entire life without having a cat).

Parents have to put down the family dog tomorrow :( they acquired him from my sister when her and her baby daddy split up. He's about 10 years old and has been around for my niece's entire life. Lyme's sucks.
