My preference is always to get a dog from the pound or shelter but I may have to go to a breeder or a private seller

Pits are wonderful dogs if raised correctly.

Yep some of the sweetest nicest dogs I've been around are pitbulls or pit mixes.

The only way to get my wife to agree to a dog was for us to get from a breeder. We found a couple that breeds their standard poodle and Bernese, so it was at least far from a puppy mill.

There is a Great Dane rescue in Huntersville.

We drove out to the country outside of Greenville, NC to adopt a Jack Russell Terrier they had in a kill shelter. Nice looking dog, paws were kind of big for a 7 week old, but hey.

Two months later she was over 25 pounds and clearly a JRT/Pit mix. Awesome dog, she turned 11 this year. Best $10 I ever spent.

Our best friends are saying goodbye to their pup today. Burbon Rufus was my first real dog friend, and without him it's safe to say there would not have been a Carlin. (Especially considering they were half siblings from the same breeder.) He was a very gregarious beagle, and I have such great memories of him and Carlin being goofy together.

This year can f--k off.

Were the breeder's from around punxsutawney?

I know it's not a cat or a dog, but I lost my triggerfish an hour ago. He hadn't been eating for the past week, and wedged himself into the rockwork in the one part of the tank impossible for me to access, so I couldn't pull him out and get him into a quarantine tank to see if there was anything I could do for him. My other fish are completely fine, so I have no idea what happened. He looked perfectly healthy sans the empty stomach when I buried him.

This really sucks, because he was my first marine fish, and I've had him since he was the size of a quarter (ended up at 5" long), and he's older than my daughter is. Almost makes me want to just tear down the tank, if I'm being honest.

Thank you. I'll be keeping a closer eye on the tank this week to make sure that nothing else seems off with the fish or coral.
