I was speaking of two (long) dead servicemen. If that's fodder for a joke....congrats?

Sure, although that's a big gun, which would make it harder to conceal.
Ditto freddy
S&W guns are great but I'd look at an M&P 9c for CC.

Happy birthday to the NRA—founded November 16, 1871.

I'll pull this out of the PDT and place it here.

Allegheny County CCW:
HOW TO APPLY FOR A PENNSYLVANIA LICENSE
TO CARRY A CONCEALED FIREARM

**** DUE TO THE INCREASED SPEED AND EFFICIENCY OF THE PA INSTANT CHECK SYSTEM (PICS), AND THEREFORE THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE, WE HAVE TRANSITIONED TO A
ONE-STEP PROCESS. WE NO LONGER ACCEPT MAIL OR EMAIL APPLICATIONS ****

Both NEW and RENEWAL Applicants need ONLY do the following:

1. Appear in-person with a valid and accurate PA Drivers' License or PA Photo ID Card.
2. Completely fill out an application (References are NOT required for Renewals ONLY.)
3. Upon approval, payment of $20.00 in the form of CASH ONLY is required.

The aforementioned process should be completed in five to ten minutes and your license will be issued the SAME DAY.
http://www.sheriffalleghenycounty.com/firearms.html

Looks like I can walk over there on my lunch with $20 and leave same day with a CCW permit. Might do it next week since my PC will be re-imaged at work and I have some time to kill.

Amazing. NC was like $135 and took 3 weeks.

I didn't think it was tough. My old man got one a few years ago, and he didn't complain.

Be prepared to wait in line. It's usually pretty busy.

You can also go to Westmoreland County, it doesn't matter which county you're in. Sheriff Held often has satellite locations which give you easy access.

I noticed a billboard on 279 for a new indoor range, and after doing a little digging it looks like the northern Pittsburgh suburbs are getting two new indoor ranges.

INPAX Academy of Personal Protection in the McCandless Crossing shopping center

I think Keystone just opened a few days ago, but I'm not entirely certain. The website for INPAX says it will be opening in Spring 2018.

I knew about the one in McCandless because clips from the town hall hearing on it made the news.

There were concerns about increased gun violence that would stem from lawful gun owners bringing their firearms to a controlled place to use them. Lots of 'think of the children' in play since it is in the vicinity of other shopping establishments.

A new side venture of The Keystone Armory in Edinboro. From that link, it looks like they are looking for a somewhat more upscale clientele down there.

It's from the same idiots who didn't want a Wal-Mart because it would increase crime and traffic in an area that already sees a pretty large amount of traffic because IT'S THE **** MAIN ROAD

I became a member of Inpax - they said it should be open around March-May.

It's actually super nice for ranges - most ranges are expensive. This one is $20 if you're a non-member, bring your own ammo, targets, and no range time.

I became a member because it's 5 minutes from my house. You're going to be able to shoot ARs there as well.

Let us know how INPAX works out. That's around 10 minutes from my house. One of the reasons I don't shoot as much as I'd like to is that my sportsmen's club is out in Harmar, which is around a 40-minute drive.

AR ranges are all ranges the way it was explained. They have a ton of bays being built. I was specifically asking questions about the AR because I wanted to just bring it in and plink it. All acceptable.

hah

Was a gift from my FIL. A firearm I never would've purchased for myself but really enjoy having. When he gave it to me you had to hold the magazine while you fired because the magazine retention mechanism was broken. I took it to a gunsmith when I still lived in NC and had them fix it.

He had it since my wife was little, it has the pre-ban barrel. He took care of it, came with the original case and other odds and ends. Cool piece of gear.

Pictured in the foreground near my M9 which should show some scale.

It doesn't have a collapsible stock if that's what you mean. It does have a sling but it's not pictured.
