I got passed by a Huracan the other night coming back from the Pens game. I could *feel* it even as it was 5 car lengths behind us and well after it passed. What a machine.

I have watched a Super Trofeo race in person at both VIR and Road Atlanta. They may not be the most interesting field of cars for the weekend, but good god they sounded amazing.

Randomly saw an Aventador vert, a 650, three Vipers (2 ACR's), and a handful of Vettes in a convoy a few weeks back hopping on the interstate.

lulz, I love Craigslist: "Would you take $5000 and a Glock 17 for the mustang?" West Virginia area code.

It's actually the best offer I've had so far.

I told him I'd do it if we did the transfer at an FFL and he seems okay with it.

Sold the Mustang to a nice old man from Greensburg. Cool.

Next move is to get a C5 Corvette Z06. Will probably trade the 650i in on the Vette and then pick up a winter beater. My MIL is selling an '05 Cadillac CTS with a set of snow tires, I might just buy that and run it in the winter. Would be weird trading my last BMW on two GM cars, need to grab a wire brush and hit the shower.

I have six months to decide but it's fun to think about.

So what's the wife got left?

And can't go wrong on the C5. I almost don't count it as a GM product.

I've driven a C7, but nothing older than that. The C5 Z06 is recognized as the best bang for buck for HPDE cars right now. Should be fun.

She's still driving the R56 MINI. She's keeping it until she finishes her doctorate. She wants to buy herself a Cayman as a grad gift at that point, but keep the MINI as a winter car. She's the best.

What a keeper :)
Obviously track days must be done for the year.

I've got a Rallycross next month that I may take the Mini to if my knee is healed up. I haven't de-shroomed the shock towers yet so it shouldn't be a big deal and its a pretty smooth location. Just some fun before the long winter. I've got a handful of house projects I have to complete this winter before I turn it into a track or autocross car.

She asked about a 911 but I think the Cayman is the better car for her use. She has wanted a Macan for a while but we went and looked at them in person and she thinks it's still too big.

Until you look at the interior. Then you're well aware that it's a GM product.

Yeah, last track day was on Wednesday. Toasted the brake fluid and wore the front pads all the way down. Had to quit after two sessions. I lowered the price a few hundred because of that and a guy came and got it on Saturday.

First track day of 2018 will be in late April, looking to buy in May and get my mods done before the track day. Safety stuff, not bothering trying to make it faster.

I'm still really happy that worked out for you. Was a great find, can't wait to see it on course. Go fast, take pics.

Got that right. That's why its a track car, all the focus is outside. The ride to and from will be painfully plastic though, but that's not the purpose of a Vette.

My dad had a C5 a long time ago. Fun car, and the ride really wasn't all that bad. I just hated the interior . Look, design, feel - all of it. If they took a page out of Cadillac's book, they could make it much more appealing.

Will do! Took it for its first legal road trip when we stayed downtown for the marathon this weekend. It was fun to run around the city with.

Just noticed the "upgraded" software doesn't display who you're quoting.
Edit: It's a subway problem. Back to ProSilver I go.

A buddy of mine just flew out to California and bought a C4 ZR1 and drove it back to KC. Lifelong dream for him, I certainly don't get it. I think it was a '91, but the interior still looks late 70s.

The C7 interior is okay, but it's still about what's underneath you. The gap is closing, though.

Oh god. Why not buy an IROC Camaro while he's at it? The pinnacle of 80's GM-ness.

I can't get into the C7 at all. It has one of the ugliest rear ends that I've ever seen.

My dad had a 91 Vette. I grew up in it until he traded it for a 35th Anniversary Camaro.

I always loved the digital speedometer in it, as well as feeling like I was in some BTTF type stuff in the interior.

He's got a 50th Anniversary Camaro now. Convertible. Thing is loud.

He only paid $2k for it and it's going to be a track/autox car (STU).

While I still consider a C4 right up there with peak GM plastic eight piece dash design, for $2k its a gem just like my tiny roller skate.
It's a default winner in the Smiles per dollar category which is exactly what a toy car is supposed to achieve.

I mean, a F355 rebodied Fiero is still on my teenage wish list.
