The battery is the single-point-of-failure of all things so powered. I've said it before, but the person who discovers a non-wired way to deliver electricity without a battery with be the world's first trillionaire.

Musk said at the reveal that the Roadster would have three motors (two in back, one in front) with a combined torque output of 10,000 N·m. That converts to 7,376 ft-lb of torque, which would be in the neighborhood of the torque produced by a Top Fuel dragster.

I looked into a model S last year, but there was no way I was paying $80k for the configuration that I wanted and still be unlikely to even drive across the state.

All I know is that I still vividly remember an Uber ride we had in an S, and that was four years ago. It is without question the finest cabin environment of any car I've ever seen.

Gotta be honest, the massive touch screen is a bit of an eyesore compared to the rest of the interior, IMO. It just looks out of place.

This, imo, is a very bad take. Why don't you spend a few more hours polishing it up and see if you can maybe make it a bit better.

I need new tires for my Jeep. Trying to decide whether to get winter tires on my stock rims, then buy all season tires in the spring, or just get all season now.

I think that’s your way of asking me to start a Photoshop Friday request thread.

I've always thought that generation (I think the third gen?) of the BMW 7 Series was one of the best-looking cars BMW ever made. The big lumpy trunklids on the subsequent generation were hideous.

Fun ride home tonight. Hit something heavy and low in the road (rural state highway) - maybe a rock or hunk of metal. Blew a hole the size of a baseball right through my LF wheel and just caught the edge of the sidewall on my LR tire, and ripped a nice gash in it. Luckily, the wheel that got destroyed was the one I had previously curb-rashed really bad. So now I'm shopping for a used replacement wheel and a new set of winter tires. Nokian just released the new Hakkapeliitta 9...

Best winter tires I've ever owned, but man are they pricey.

That sucks WK, glad it wasn't worse.

I had the cruise set to 81 at 1am on the Indiana turnpike on Friday night and hit a 2x4 at full speed. It was in the middle of a small bridge and it kind of blended in with the change of road surface. Happy to have come out of that without any significant damage.

Yeah, I was pretty lucky. There's a little bit of a scrape on the top of the caliper where the broken aluminum came around, but it doesn't look like there's any other damage. I still need to get the wheel and tires on and get it on a rack to be sure, but looks promising.

Got a reconditioned wheel and a set of Hakka 9's ordered today. Should have everything by next week.

Don't often see Brembo's behind a Buick wheel. Your doing or a factory package?
