So my wife ended up buying the CX-5...the third day we had it, she had backed into the garage and parked the car. In her words, she thought that it was a little close to the door, but she figured if it was too close the garage door wouldn't actually close...........

Honestly it could have been much worse, but there are white scuffs on her red front end

Oh lord. I should note she is generally not an accident-prone driver.

Nice! She got the 2017 Touring, which she got a great deal on new and it's basically no different than the 2018. It is fun having the moonroof.

Yea they had one 2017 on the lot but it was the light blue color. We got the dark blue one. I personally love moon/sunroofs. I've only had one car that doesn't have it and it bothered the hell out of me.

Mrs Tif drove a CR-V for two years. Utterly unremarkable and largely non-enjoyable, imo.

Your first problem is expecting an enjoyable time driving any compact SUV.

My wife wants new floor mats for our 2007 pontiac vibe since one has a hole in it... If it was me, I'd just not worry about it because it's not worth it to replace them, but she wants them replaced. So be it. I'm not spending more than $30 on a set of floor mats for a car that we probably won't even have a couple years from now. Anyone have any suggestions on decent universal fit floor mats?

I just bought my wife universal fit floormats for her new CX5...I'm sure you can find similar mats for the Vibe on there that would be a step above whatever they have at Wal-Mart or Advance Auto Parts.

Look on Amazon. I got generic rubber mats for my Elantra for about $25. Front and back.

What's the policy on replacing tires on an AWD car? I know you're supposed to replace all if you ruin one. However, I might only have 2500-3000 miles on these tires. Also worth mentioning is that the back tires are different size than the front.

At the very least, you should replace either both fronts or rears at the same time. Doing all four at once because of one bad tire is overkill.

yeah, that's what I was thinking. I have road hazard coverage on the tires so it will cost me money up front, but at least I'll get it some of the money back.

NTB said they should be able to swap only the fronts providing the wear isn't too bad. I just hate throwing money on tires for a car that I might be trading sooner than later, but it's not like a bubbled tire is something that you can say "eh, I'll deal with it later."

Speaking of tires... do yinz buy tires online and get them shipped to a shop? Or just go to a tire place and get what they have in stock? My car is due for inspection and will likely need new tires, so just sort of thinking ahead.

I've bought mine online for at least the past 10 years. Tire rack used to be top dog, but their shipping prices have brought them down to earth. Now I shop around. Last buy was from NTB, even though I hate their shop.

it's a 225/40zr18. There's no way I'm finding that one.

I'm getting at least half the money back thanks to road hazard. Just sucks that I have to buy two tires when only one is bad.

TireRack fell out of favor with me a long time ago. My last three tire purchases were TireBuyer.com (frequent coupon codes online, and free shipping to your house or a shop you use), and Amazon. The time before those three was a purchase at Walmart, but only because the tires were on some ridiculous sale that nobody else could match.

I do my research on TireRack and then go down to J&T's and they generally beat the price once shipping is factored in.

I pretty much do the dodint method. Tirerack still has good info on the tires, just don't buy from them. I've done Walmart, NTB, Amazon - whomever has the cheapest tires. I used to have a guy in little Boston that would install them for $10 each, but he's too far from me now.
