Anyone get a bronco yet? I hit a deer and in the days waiting on results thinking it would be totaled, I started browsing for my next ride. I've wanted to go back to a Wrangler but the Broncos do look awesome and seem a bit cheaper. I'm a little weary of buying a first year model. Anywho, car ended up not being totaled, but I'm gonna move on anyway and I'm in no rush since I'll have a vehicle

Fun Saab things.

I need a roof rack to haul a kayak and/or a stand-up paddle board. My Saab wagon doesn't have the long roof rails, just flip up panels to mount two cross bars.
Check Thule's website, and they have aftermarket cross bars, but they are $550-$750 for the set. Yikes, and the kayak/sup carriers are about $250 each.
I spend the evening confirming that Saab bars exist, they must, right? Why else would the holes be in the body? I found a Sportcombi for sale with the Saab cross bars on CarGurus. Then I pick through and search Saab product catalogs and finally find them, success!
The Saab cross bars are $155...and made by Thule. :lol: The Saab Kayak holder is $176.

Long live the Swedes.
I just bought a Thule travel backpack. But it didn't come with any roof bars.

The gas-guzzling Chevy Malibu, for example, produces about 320 grams of carbon dioxide per mile driven. The new Hummer EV, which weighs in at just over 9,000 pounds, emits approximately 341 grams of CO2 per mile driven, based on average global power grid consumption. A combination of general inefficiency and vehicle size essentially renders GMC’s Hummer worse for climate change than your typical sedan.

FOSSIL FUELS ABOUND — Though electric vehicles need not stop by the gas station to refuel, they do still rely somewhat on fossil fuels. This is mostly the fault of the power grid; somewhere around 60 percent of all electricity in the U.S. is created through the burning of fossil fuels.
Electricity, free and clean.

If we're going to push these vehicles on an unwilling populace at least green light some more nuclear power plants.

That said, a 9,000lb EV is dumb.

Horribly inefficient, but comparing it to a Malibu instead of an Avalanche or Traverse when it comes to emissions is a joke. A Malibu gets 30 mpg. When those monsters get half that.

Agreed. Since when is a Malibu "gas guzzling"? According to Fueleconomy.gov, the worst engine/transmission combo for the Malibu (the 2.0 L four) gets 26 mpg combined, with the 1.5 L turbo four getting 32 mpg combined. By comparison, only two of the 302 tested engine/transmission/drive permutations of non-electric pickup trucks get better mileage: the FWD Maverick hybrid at 37 mpg combined, and the RWD Chevrolet Silverado diesel at 27 mpg combined. Something like 200 of the truck models get 20 mpg or worse combined.

I think the 'gas guzzling' moniker was facetious as it was used in comparison against what is effectively a cartoon vehicle (9,000lb EV).

I forgot that they still made the Malibu. Looking it up, you can get a 10 speed automatic with 250hp but it will cost you 35K.

Maybe they just want you to drive around the open world and do small side tasks that will allow you to unlock the Get Off The Hot Seat achievement after unlocking 50 loot boxes.

Honda released info on the 2023 CR-V yesterday, and I'm not sure what they are doing with their CUV lineup anymore in regards to dimensions (in inches):

2023 HR-V
Wheelbase: 104.5
Length: 179.8
Height: 63.4
Width: 72.4

2023 CR-V
Wheelbase: 106.3
Length: 184.8
Height: 66.6
Width: 73.4

I get that the vehicles are on the same Civic platform, which makes the sizes similar, but I just don't see the purpose of the HR-V anymore. For me that is disappointing as that was the subcompact CUV I was looking to get as a replacement for my 2012 Civic. Now I'm not so sure.

The CR-V no longer has an LX model, which was usually the base level model. I read a few comments that the HR-V is basically the "LX" model of the CR-V now. Can't really argue that.

I think Honda retired the LX nomenclature for the Pilot and Passport last model year. They start at Sport trim, while the sedans still have the LX. & trims for the Pilot, only 3 for the Passport. Passport has a higher base price than the Pilot, which wasn't the case when the Passport launched a few years ago.

Sadly, I spent time at a body shop yesterday as I gouged the **** out of my wife's '22 Accord sideswiping a mailbox in the pouring rain. Ugh. Anyway, the owner was talking about his mother is a sales manager for a Honda dealership in another part of SC where every vehicle that gets delivered is sold before it gets on the auto hauler. He says they are sold out for months in advance. Still.

I saw that for the Passport/Pilot as well, but LX is still around with HR-V:

HR-V models: LX, Sport, EX-L
CR-V models: EX, EX-L, Sport, Sport Touring (Sport and Sport Touring are hybrid)

Fan clutch seems to be failing on my pickup... No biggie, it's a fan clutch how bad can it be.

Maui is basically Toyota Tacoma land - you'd think they made up like 80% of the vehicles over there. I saw enough of them that if I were in the market for a pickup, I'd seriously consider a TRD.

I hate everything but the LED headlights. The sharp drop in the nose, the length of the front end, the grill... hard pass. And this is an SUV that I've generally really liked over the years. I think the RAV-4 looks better than this one, but if I had to choose, I'd still opt for an Acura RDX over both, as it's effectively the same size as these two, just considerably nicer in every aspect.
