Yeah, no, the Excursion can stay dead.

Bring it back with a 6 speed manual then.

The Excursion always annoyed me because the spare tire is in the cargo area. Not even hidden, just hanging out there.

I think there have been three non-commercial vehicles with seven-speed manuals: the Porsche 911, the Chevorlet Corvette, and the Ford Bronco. Although for the Bronco I think "first' is a super-low crawler gear that basically takes the place of low range on a transfer case, so most of the time it's driven as a six-speed transmission.

The above is the Corvette.

I've got the long wheelbase Expedition and if I could find the vacuum leak on the Mini I'd have my commuter car too. A great setup when they're both working.

Yeah, wife drives an Expedition Max. She puts on about 7k annual miles and I do even less when you subtract our 5-6 longer distance camping trips a year.I've got the long wheelbase Expedition and if I could find the vacuum leak on the Mini I'd have my commuter car too. My trucks about paid off and I'd love to get a third vehicle that's an EV but it still doesn't make financial sense yet, spend money to save money.

I've put 2500 miles on the Volt. Two tanks of gas, one of which I had to burn down so it would have enough cycles to pass emissions. A savings of over $500 so far and we have had it for about two months. Pretty happy with it.

Lease, or buy? New or used?
Are you factoring KWH charges into that savings?

Heh, it's discontinued in 2019? Guess that answers all of my questions.

We calculated the electric cost before purchase but I can't recall it offhand, whatever it was was low enough to not deter purchase. My wife's Greensburg to Ligonier round trip (and typical side errands) is achieved without using fuel.
We own it, paid $12k for it. It's still under warranty and looks new.

Sounds like solar and a battery are in your future.

A model 3 lease can be had for under $300 monthly with $1k down. That's... A lot less than I expected.

Yes. I installed a 30amp receptical for this purpose. It takes about 4 hours to charge it from empty.Do you charge at home?We calculated the electric cost before purchase but I can't recall it offhand, whatever it was was low enough to not deter purchase. Battery died in the wife’s CR-V. We got 7 years out of that Duralast Gold, which is easily the longest I’ve seen in forever. In a bind because we both need our cars tomorrow, and Costco was closing in 30. So I figured, just go to AutoZone. $205 after the core… JFC. Costco’s interstate batteries are $109-119.

Do you have O'Reilly's up there? I've had great luck with their batteries and the warranty is great. I bought one battery for our Odyssey and they replaced it 3 times for free.

Nah, none near me. Also, you having to replace a battery three times is one hell of an endorsement.

In 12 years. With sliding doors and the heat down here that kills batteries.Nah, none near me. Also, you having to replace a battery three times is one hell of an endorsement.
I have one in our '17 Accord that's 4 years old and still strong.

I do wish I could find AGM batteries locally, but nobody carries the model that either of our cars would require. On a side note, the portable car charger I bought off Amazon years ago for like $80 has worked great. I've used it half a dozen times now for my car and a neighbor's car. Beats the hell out of the old school method.
