I feel the same as you. The blue looks great, but that tan is too orange for my taste. That said, I'm not a fan of tan interiors in general.

I like a lighter shade of tan on this car when coupled with red or black. This goofy Porsche colored orange-tan is interesting for sure. Also, the top is black which throws the balance a bit, too. Blue/tan/aluminum/black is a lot of contrast in a small car.

Tan interiors don't really work for me in a convertible.

I also am not crazy about the aluminum trim. The blue and tan look quite nice.

My Dad has been teaching himself auto body repair for the last two years. He stood up his paint booth a few weeks ago. It's conceivable that I can simply paint the aluminum trim a matte black. I just worry that the surface will have a bad texture and be subject to chipping.

I know they make rattlecan trim paint but I do not know if they make it for use in a spray gun.

I'd be surprised if they didn't. Ever give any thought to anodizing it?

It's not aluminum, it's plastic. Aluminum is descriptive of the imitated surface, not the material, sorry.

I like the blue, but not with the tan. The blue and aluminum would be fine without the tan. All three is too much.

IMO, tan interiors only work with a very limited range of colors. British racing green? Absolutely. Blue? No thanks.

Not a car guy, but the tan would be fine without so much aluminum. The tan/black interior with blue exterior would be fine.

It's less jarring from inside the car if that's worth anything:

Saw that on Reddit earlier. Brilliant, and I’d absolutely let him in.

Would it change your impression to learn that the fashion designer wants $1,890 per pair for the ugly-ass shoes in that photo? I personally kinda think he's deserving of a cease-and-desist (on behalf of humanity) just for that. ;)

I spent way too much time determining the green was in fact the side mirror reflection and not the color.

They make stick on kits that a pre-cut. They supposedly look horrible, though.

This is how that interior would look if it were shifted from aluminum to black:

 Are you dissing my 30 minute vinyl roof stretch job!?!?!?!?

Piano Black does look really good. I was afraid it would be too much of a near match with the not really black vinyl dash but it's pretty sweet.
The real question is that doesn't look like a C5 interior...

The funny thing is this Z4 that I'm going to buy is that it will be traded on a C5Z in about two years. I want a C5Z right now but there is too much going on for me to deal with that hot mess so I'm buying this a compromise knowing that I'm going to trade it in 18-24 months.
