Traded in the Yaris for a 2010 Prius. It's much roomier than the 2005 which was pretty room itself. Very happy with the purchase.

Congrats.

Did you look into seeing how long the batteries go in those? I honestly don't know. I've heard the resale on them is low because of that worry, and you're probably the first I've heard of buying one that is 5 years old. Curious to hear your thoughts.

There is a 10 year/150K warranty on the battery and we have about 64K miles left on that. Our 2005 had 145k miles on the initial battery and no signs of slowing down. I've heard of people needing to replace the battery as low as 40k and as high as 225k, I guess it depends on....something I guess ???

Our thinking was that we love the Prius and we will just put away the cost of a new battery in case it goes on us. If not, we can use that toward the purchase of a new car sometime in the future. Installed a new battery would run about $3500 or so.

EDIT: Scratch that. It has 100k warranty on the battery so we have about 14k left on it.

Is the warranty portable, or is it only for the original owner?

Is he hauling top fuel dragsters in tandem? Or does his crew just like to run laps while en route to the track?

Dodint, any thoughts on the xdrive beemers?

I found a 320 that gets better mileage than my Subaru, has much better acceleration (a necessity for my onramp struggles), and I imagine is a little more roomier.

Really great in icy conditions. The car just sits down, no dramatics or swerving or anything. It just plants itself. I didn't like the idea at first, but the E46 330xi we had was amazing, and the E60 535xi we have now has done great in the little we've used it up north. As much as I hate to say it I recommend them hands down. I'm just a RWD/manual purist myself, but for the wife the xi's have been amazing, no joke. They do have a RWD bias (something like 45F/65R) still but it's not the same. But I drive a manual E36 325is through the winter in WI so I'm pretty confident with it.

Today: Clear, High 77 | Low 53°F, 0% Chance of Precip.

And my first motorcycle license plate came today. This is going to be good. I'm going to look real quick online for a small diner or something in a part of the state I've never been, and then go find it without touching the interstate.

Somewhat graphic. No blood or gore or anything, but the guy is in obvious distress:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23X3tb7DfCQ

I really don't get what's happening here. F-150 runs over a motorcyclist and drags him down the freeway. The truck driver doesn't even realize it's happening (wtmf?). People pull the guy over and provide assistance to the rider. Okay.

Traffic was moving slow and this guy on his R6 got clipped and thrown into the next lane over, guy in the F-150 ran him down and dragged him until people that were actually paying attention to the road stopped him.

If I'm ever trapped under a vehicle and responsive, for the love of god don't yank me out by the legs. Let the pros do it, thanks. The guy is in stable condition and is lucky for a lot of reasons.

Saw and was nearly involved in a huge eff off accident yesterday on the freeway. Blue WRX changed lanes two cars in front of me, l to r. Decided that his original lane was better and moved back....... except the car that had been behind him had accelerated into the gap, so they had like 3 feet of overlap. Ever see a PIT maneuver at 75 mph? WRX spun around, gripped, fired into the next lane perpendicular to traffic and immediately got t-boned, while the car in front of me rear ended the PIT car. I locked up and came to a stop sort of alongside the rear ending car (in a pile of rear window glass), as the Audi behind me swerved and missed me by about 2 microns. All four cars involved were able to move to the side under their own power, and no one was seriously hurt.

I pulled over and waited until the police showed up, but I really needed the time to allow the adrenaline to disippate. I had a guy try and stab me with a screwdriver once, but yesterday was the most terror I've ever experienced.

Yeah, unless you smell fuel or the vehicle's already on fire, don't move a victim.

Maybe he's selling because the power stroke can't tow it? #cumminsguy
