Honest question: What is the purpose of these modifications? That's more negative camber than could ever possibly be useful. Is it really just a rolling Darwin tag?

If you figure out the answer to that, let the rest of us know, because I have no **** idea.

I was originally shaking my head at the mere sight of it. That he couldn't get over a baby speed bump was just icing on the cake.

I know that low ride stuff is a big Hispanic thing. I always see the freaking hatchbacks that are so low to the ground that it's a shocker the undercarriage doesn't get ripped out at any bump.

In all honesty, I think that absurd price is more a function of rarity and provenance than of marque.

Also worth noting that the number quoted above is the record for an auction. The record for private sale is $70M set earlier this month by a different 250 GTO.

I still want an F430 someday but they've already bottomed and are starting to appreciate again. :(

Got my car back from the body shop, and you can't tell it was ever in an accident. The paint job was perfect, and the guy who did the work blended it masterfully. I almost felt a little bad for the Hertz rep when she asked how the car was, and I told her it was best suited to be driven off a cliff and forgotten. What a turd of a car.

Anyone here use Duralast Gold brake pads? If so, what did you think of them? I'm done with StopTech pads. Terrific stopping power, but they leave far too much material on the rotors, which wind up pulsing within months.

to be fair, I'd probably say the same about quite a few of the rentals I've driven.

My last three rentals were virtually brand new (under 10k miles) GM and Ford products.

I bought the mid grade Bendix brand pads from summit for my Honda and they've been the best pads I've ever used.

I spent all day researching this, and decided to just go with Centric everything. Centric cryo-treated rotors and Centric Posi-Quiet ceramic pads (somehow even cheaper than the Duralasts). On a related note, I'm going to replace the rotor dust caps, but I think Walmart priced themselves out of the running:

For the esteemed car experts here:

Recently, I have the following problem with our Honda Pilot: When I stop the car (say, at the intersection) but don't turn the engine off, I feel a brief puff of a "propane-gas" like smell coming through the front ventilation slots. What do you think is the issue? Just a bad cabin filter or possibly something more serious?

Thanks!!

Are there oil deposits around the cap on your motor? You could be smelling that at idle. I don't think it's a cabin filter issue, because you shouldn't be smelling that in the first place. Any mechanic should be able to figure out the source using a mechanical sniffer if it truly is gas/oil.

Likely a bad catalytic converter too. Is there a check engine light?
