So that's pretty much where I'm at I think. It'd be the Rebel or the new 1500, nothing old body. Ford is my first choice but the price is insane. I've found a few low mileage Used for $35K, but yea, it's poop.I wanted to get back into a crew cab truck but I can't imagine it's gonna ever be possible. These prices are ASTRONOMICAL. $40,000 for a decently equipped truck is insane.Starting to look at 4 door trucks seriously now. Having a hard time between Dodge and Ford, Ford seems pretty expensive for what it is.
That said IF i was gettin one, i'd definitely go Ford. If Dodge, I'd go with the Rebel package. But Ford would win for me.

I've never been a truck guy, but I think it's insane to spend $35k+ on a pickup.

However, in the future the Mrs. and I want to buy an RV. We'd rather get the ones you pull so it's easy to un-hitch and drive around town whenever the RV is not in use. Therefore, a truck is almost a necessity. But man, that's a lot of bones for an RV-puller. I'm sure I'd use it for picking up mulch and other things, but still not worth it IMO.

I think it's also insane to spend that much on a pick-up. $33K is like my max. These things being sold at $45K new is just ridiculous for even a mid-range model.
But it's either that, or a full-size SUV, and I'd rather just have the utility of a truck, especially when I *could* just end up towing my jeep around, etc.

The last truck I bought was a 1997 C-1500 or whatever Silverados were called back then. I think I paid new $19K for it. Extended cab 2WD with the half-door on one side. Great truck. According to an inflation calculator, that's worth about $30K today. That's exactly what I would pay for that truck today.
Looking at local inventories, that same truck is about that price - $33K or so. Not too shabby.
But what's shocking is the price of a new Tahoe. $51K for a 2WD mid-level trim model.

The full-size SUVs (like Explorer, Pilot, Traverse) are as much as the frickin trucks. You might as well just get the truck.I think it's also insane to spend that much on a pick-up. $33K is like my max. These things being sold at $45K new is just ridiculous for even a mid-range model.

It's really nice only having one moderate car payment right now. My wife's jeep will be paid off next September-ish. At that point, it should be worth about $8k. So a nice little egg to maybe put down on a truck to get a payment right around $500. THe only bad thing is, by that time I bet I need a new car as well.
I mainly want the truck to be able to get a camper. Plus, I have a trailer to haul my kubota around, and borrowing my old man's truck every other week makes him mad

Bums me out that trucks are so expensive. I'd like to get one in a few years, as my car is aging and I could use a truck for projects around the house.

I'm actually getting a truck, because of the rear seating space. F-150's are crazy good in that aspect, I just never figured I'd have a problem with kid seats and not being able to sit back the length I need because of my legs. We've talked about getting a truck for a while, but smaller, like a Tacoma or Gladiator. Given that I'm having seat issues, it's going to push me to full-size.
And like I said, if it's between SUV and Truck, I want the truck for the utility, even though mr. corporate office job will look goofy driving it to work.

There are at least 4 F-150 Raptors sitting out in our parking lot. THOSE guys look goofy.

lol 65K-70K on a truck is unreal.

not a scratch in the bed, either.

no different than the Wranglers you see where they spent 15K in upgrades to just sit it in the parking lot clean as can be.

We got a used 2013 Traverse a few years back for $23k. It had something like 40k miles on it. The LZ model (full package) has a towing option that allows up to 5500 pounds. Our model allows something like 2000 pounds. Not great, but still nice for small things. The full-size SUVs (like Explorer, Pilot, Traverse) are as much as the frickin trucks. In that moment, he/she/they felt completely vindicated with their decision to buy a Jeep.

Needed to replace fog light bulbs in the CX7 for inspection. Decided to go with Sylvania FogVision yellow bulbs.

I'm a big fan of yellow fog bulbs; heightened usefulness in inclement weather.

Yep. It's not a huge difference, but I like the look and hopefully they'll warm things up a bit. I love the clarity HID headlamps give you, but they kinda suck in fog/snow.

Good projectors will cut through fog and snow better than reflectors. The only reason you don’t see more factory projector fog lamps is because of cost.
