If studs suck, and lug bolts suck, what's left?

I use a telescoping camera mount for my track video capture. It wobbles like crazy because of the telescoping mechanism. Yesterday I filled the grooves with JB Weld. Twenty-four hours later and that sucker is never going to move again.

Yeah, JB Weld is for "do you never want this to move ever again?" projects. I actually used JB WaterWeld for the live rock in my saltwater tank to prevent everything from falling or being knocked over.

FlexSeal: I've used it to patch a leak in my shed roof. It's held up for a year so far.

JB Weld: My uncle once repaired a broken tooth with it...

Other than (probably) speeding, what was he doing illegally? Overtaking multiple cars? IDK if that's illegal or not.

The fact that the cars ahead of him were completely stopped should have been something of a context clue.

Reckless driving. Causing an accident.

After a weekend getaway, I'm pretty much convinced that a mid-size truck is probably going to be too small with Kids. Seeing that you can pack a ton of **** into a full-size and still be comfortable was tops for me.

My '07 Pontiac Vibe with 170,000 miles on it lives to see another year. Just needed new brake pads, replace a tail light, and new windshield wiper fluid dispenser motor.

I think next year is the year to get rid of it. It'll need tires, new rotors, and who knows what else. But until then, I'm going to enjoy another year of not having that car payment.

Vibes are solid. My Dad held onto his for a long while. Finally sold it a year or so ago to a co-worker and it's still going with no issues.

If I could get 2 more years out of it, that is the end of my other car payment. From there I'd be more than happy to depart with it. I bought the vibe a decade ago (used), and it's still running strong. No complaints at all.

Rotors will probably run you around $200 and are easy to replace. Might be worth it for two more years.

Speaking of rotors, my BIL was working on my sister's Jeep last week and told me that it had allen bolts holding the calipers to the bracket. First time I've ever heard of allen bolts being used in that manner.

IIRC, the Vibe was the reskinned twin of the Toyota Matrix, and the Matrix was basically a taller hatchbackified version of the Corolla platform, so the longevity is not surprising in that light. It's a Toyota engine too, isn't it?
