There's an app called Torque that I use with my OBD2 reader on my TDI. Allowed me to get info about EGTs and such.

If anyone has or knows of someone looking to sell a car hauler/trailer, hit me up. Looking for:

16-18ft
open
electric brakes
functioning lights

At that size it can be steel or aluminum. Not looking to pay over $3k. There are a few out there on CL and racingjunk.com but I figured I'd put it to the 5AF network and see if anyone is selling.

There is a U-haul place in Turtle Creek selling like 15 car haulers for $1,495 each. They're 25 years old and have surge brakes, though. Probably not going that route.

Surge brakes... nah. Those things work when they shouldnt, and don't when they should

There are a few FB groups to join, one of them is PA Derby Exchange or something like that. It's for demo derby drivers in the area.

I'm pretty fortunate that Econotrailer is out of Claysburg, PA. Lots of my online racing buddies drive a pretty good distance to get one. If I can't find a used one I want I may ask them to spec out a new one. There is also a place in Irwin that spams Craigslist that might be able to help.

Good idea on the Facebook thing.

There was a nice 9900# one on FB marketplace the other day for 1500. It's marked as sold now. It looked like the guy just redid it. It was an 05 CAM.

Also there's that place right along the turnpike before Irwin (heading west). I think it's called Best Choice trailers.

Best Choice Trailers is the place I mentioned is spamming craigslist. I think every trailer they own is on there. Inventory looks good though.

If you need a rec for a quality reader, this is the one I use:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006NZTZLQ/

There are less expensive ones but that's a quality unit.

I feel like a 7k gvwr is low but if you're towing around a stripped down racecar maybe you're fine.

By the way, got a call from the mechanic today that he replaced a solenoid on my Honda and it's fixed. Horray!

The car is 3,200lbs and the trailers are slightly less than 1,600lbs. Combined weight of well less than 5,000lbs.

Yeah. Eventual race trim is 2,800lbs but it's still at its piggish daily driver spec. In terms of weight, anyway.

I paid $2.85/gal for 92 octane the other day. That's the lowest I've paid in many years.

Our local grocery store gas station carries 92 instead of 93. Always thought it was odd, too.

I love finding out my car does things, sometimes years after I bought it.

I found out, maybe three years ago, that if you hold the unlock button on our 2008 Odyssey's key fob, the windows automatically roll down.

I didn’t know this until this morning, but apparently the last episode of “FantomWorks” that I watched was the series finale. I read that they had issues with morale and keeping guys around because of the stress of the film crew always on site. That’s too bad, because they restored some amazing cars. The average build on the show was 500+ days. They finished the series off with a 69 Camaro RS powered by a true ZL1 that sounded like it wanted to run with Ghost Rider through the gates of hell.
